Data Science Program Lead I - Neurology

Description

The clinical data strategy and operations group sits within the company and brings people, process and technology together to get business value from clinical trial data. The role helps the group deliver on program and study goals assigned to it.

Responsibilities

• Align the study teams with program and study strategies. On assigned studies, lead the CDSO study team and represent data science as a member of the cross-functional study team.
• On assigned studies, be the single point of contact and accountable operational lead from data science and statistics. Coordinate the related study teams to hit operational goals, and connect with global functional and cross-functional groups.
• Influence cross-functional team members to reach program and study objectives, even without direct authority over them.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track progress and write status reports. Spot issues that could affect timelines or quality early, and develop options and fixes.
• Make sure work follows federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices, ICH Guidelines, company SOPs and functional quality standards. Keep up with new or changing local rules, guidelines and policies on clinical development.
• Take part in oversight of vendors, and give feedback on study operations, issues and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor data science associates. This may include indirect oversight of contract staff.
• Join CDSO and cross-functional innovation and process improvement efforts.
• Share lessons learned from study execution across functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field. A master's degree is preferred. PMP or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desirable.
• At least 3 years in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or at least 5 years in project management, plus relevant work experience.
• A strong grasp of the clinical trial process and clinical technology. Experience taking a trial from start to finish is preferred.
• Proven leadership skills.
• A proven ability to influence people without direct authority.
• Proven communication skills.
• Proven analytical skills.

Conditions

Pay disclosure: where state or local law requires it, the base pay range is the company's good-faith estimate for this grade at posting. Actual pay depends on factors such as location and may fall above or below the range, and the range may change.

Eligible for the company's short-term incentive programs.
