Description

You will join a technology company that works mainly with the US federal government and is part of a larger global firm. It has over 13,000 people and supports defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health clients.

The team is building a resource-allocation capability in Palantir Foundry that assembles and compares workforce teams against staffing, qualification, readiness, timing, equipment, and organizational limits.

The system must produce several options, explain how they differ, flag requests that cannot be met, measure effects on the organization, and hold back capacity for future demand.

This is a production decision-science role, not a position built around reports or notebooks.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate optimization and/or simulation models, write tested Python, and connect the models to the Foundry Ontology and applications.
  • Create and refine Monte Carlo, discrete event, and agent-based simulations that drive the platform's scoring.
  • Build predictive and time-series forecasting models that reveal upcoming operational trends.
  • Run uncertainty and sensitivity analyses to show how much confidence the outputs deserve.
  • Work with subject matter experts to check model assumptions and improve accuracy over time.
  • Compare simulation and forecasting results with optimization-based methods to confirm validity and cross-validate.
  • Judge where machine learning can be applied as historical data builds up.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with statistical and simulation modeling, using tools such as SimPy, AnyLogic, Mesa, SALib, or similar.
  • Strong Python skills for scientific and statistical computing.
  • Preferred: experience with linear or mathematical optimization or operations research.
  • Preferred: experience with Palantir Foundry data science tooling.
  • Preferred: healthcare or public sector domain experience.

Conditions

Full-time and onsite in the DC area.

You must hold an active Secret clearance and be a US citizen.

Base pay for this role is between $89,000 and $170,200 USD in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. Actual pay depends on office location, role, skill set, and experience.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no fixed deadline.

The company works to keep a culture where everyone is respected and has equal opportunity.

Benefits

  • A wide range of benefits, with details available from the company.
  • Hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training to support your growth.
