Data Science Program Lead I - Neurology

Description

The team brings people, processes and technology together to turn clinical trial data into business value. This role helps the group deliver on program and study goals assigned to Clinical Data Strategy and Operations (CDSO).

The company develops medicines in immunology, oncology and neuroscience and also runs an aesthetics portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Align CDSO study teams with program and study strategies.
• On assigned studies, lead the CDSO study team and represent Data Science on the cross-functional study team.
• Act as the single point of contact and operational owner for assigned studies from DSS, and coordinate the related DSS study teams toward operational goals.
• Build working relationships with global functional and cross-functional colleagues.
• Influence cross-functional team members to meet program and study objectives, even without direct authority over them.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies, manage internal and external resources, track progress and write status reports.
• Spot issues that could affect timelines or quality early, and develop options and fixes.
• Keep work compliant with federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices, ICH guidelines, company SOPs and functional quality standards. Track changes to local rules, guidelines and policies on clinical development.
• Help oversee vendors and give feedback on study operations, issues and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates, which may include indirect oversight of contract resources.
• Take part in CDSO and cross-functional innovation and process improvement work.
• Share lessons learned from study execution across functions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field.
• A master's degree is preferred.
• PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desired.
• 3+ years in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or 5+ years in project management, plus relevant work experience.
• A solid grasp of the clinical trial process and clinical technology.
• Experience managing a clinical trial from start to finish is preferred.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Proven ability to influence others without direct authority.
• Clear communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.

Conditions

Pay disclosure rules apply in some locations. The base pay range is set by the job grade and reflects what the company expects to pay at posting. Actual pay depends on factors such as location and may land above or below the range, which may change.
