Data Science Program Lead I - Oncology

The Data Science team works on bringing people, processes and technology together to produce business value from clinical trial data. This role helps deliver the program- and study-level goals assigned to Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS).

Responsibilities

• Set DSS study team work in line with program and study strategies.
• On assigned studies, lead the DSS study team and act as its member on the cross-functional study team.
• Serve as the single point of contact and accountable operational lead from DSS for assigned studies, coordinating the related DSS study teams to hit operational goals.
• Connect with global functional and cross-functional teams, and shape decisions across them without direct authority.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track progress and write status reports.
• Spot issues that could affect timelines or quality early, and propose options and fixes.
• Make sure work follows federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH Guidelines, the company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and functional quality standards. Keep up with changing local regulations, guidelines and policies on clinical development.
• Oversee vendors and give feedback on study operations, problems and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates. This may include indirect oversight of contract resources.
• Take part in DSS and cross-functional innovation and process improvement efforts.
• Share lessons learned from study execution across functions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field is required. A master's degree is preferred. PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable.
• You need either 3+ years in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or 5+ years in project management, plus relevant work experience.
• A strong grasp of the clinical trial process and clinical technology. Experience taking a clinical trial from start to finish is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others without direct authority.

Conditions

Pay disclosure applies only to applicants in locations with pay transparency rules under state or local law. The posted base pay range is the company's good-faith estimate for this grade at posting time. Actual pay depends on factors such as geographic location and may fall outside the range, which may change later.

This role is eligible for the short-term incentive program.
