Data Science Consultant

Description

The role works alongside the consumer marketers in the company's mobile business.

You will use internal and external data to shape strategy and solutions, sizing the potential of new products, forecasting sales, and supporting decisions across each product's life.

You will weigh the needs of several partners to set the direction of new offerings and help the product team bring strong products to market.

Responsibilities

• Measure how well marketing campaigns perform using advanced analytics, A/B tests and return on investment.
• Work with the AI&A team on machine learning models that forecast customer behavior, churn, sales and revenue.
• Run advanced analytics, modeling and data mining to surface insights about the business.
• Build customer lifecycle plans and cross-BAU behavioral churn programs that flag retention opportunities early.
• Help build executive dashboards, standard reporting frameworks and clear visuals so decisions across the organization rest on data.
• Turn complex findings into plain business recommendations, keep the Cost of Retention (COR) within financial guidance, and support strategic marketing plans.
• Track ongoing and ad hoc metrics, reporting them in formats suited to each situation and audience.
• Work with Network Engineering, Digital Operations, Finance and Marketing so analytical work meets business goals.

Requirements

• You use data to back important decisions, pairing numbers with a strategic view and a grasp of the market. You make findings easy to understand through clear visuals and practical insights, and people trust your detailed analyses.
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience, gained through work and/or military service.
• Experience in advanced analytics, measurement or data science.
• Experience with Looker, Qlik or a similar visual analysis tool, including large data sets, optimization, project management and interactive dashboards.
• Experience modeling data with LookML on the Looker platform.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Looker, LookML and Looker Studio Pro.
• Experience writing SQL.
• Experience turning business problems into analytical solutions.
• Even better: a Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Statistics or a related STEM field.
• Even better: experience applying statistical methods to data sets to answer business questions.
• Even better: experience with Python, JS or R.
• Even better: experience with machine learning algorithms and tools.
• Even better: knowledge of omnichannel metrics and data domain principles.
• Even better: experience with visual science or dashboard design principles.
• Even better: a foundation in generative AI, large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex and vector databases.
• Even better: a drive to explain analytic findings with integrity, from walking colleagues through raw output to building presentations and storyboards for strategic partners.

Conditions

Hybrid role with a set work location: work from home plus at least three days per week in the office, assigned by your manager.

You are responsible for following hybrid work policies.

Scheduled at 40 hours per week.

Pay varies by location and by confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based role with potential to earn more.

Annual full-time salary range for the listed location(s): $81,000.00 to $155,000.00.

Annual full-time salary range for the New York location(s) listed: $89,000.00 to $155,000.00.

Part-time pay is adjusted to hours worked.
