Data Engineering - Intelligent Operations (f/m/d)

Description

You will work in Intelligent Operations, the operational arm of the forward deployed engineering group in the technology and operations unit. The group supports and checks AI engagements for the company's industry customers, aiming for quality, security and results that last.

The role keeps the data infrastructure behind deployed AI solutions reliable, governed and improving over time. The capability is being set up now, so you will help shape its data strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and run production data pipelines that feed the company's own agent and application systems, covering ingestion, transformation, enrichment and delivery, all automated, monitored and resilient.
• Set up and enforce data governance across customer engagements, including privacy, data boundaries, lineage and audit trails built into the infrastructure rather than tracked by hand.
• Build and maintain knowledge graph infrastructure that gives internal agents context and retrieval.
• Create automated validation for production data and checks that flag quality decline before it affects agents or customer SLAs.
• Manage data assets as products with versioning, documentation, ownership and lifecycle handling, working with the Knowledge and IP team so assets can be reused on later engagements.
• Partner with application engineering and platform engineering teams to keep the data beneath their solutions sound and improving.
• Define data engineering standards, mentor engineers, and work with FDE squads, hubs, external delivery partners and the company's data and analytics ecosystem.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and operating production data pipelines that feed AI agents, models or customer-facing applications at scale.
• Deep expertise in data pipeline development, data governance and data infrastructure management in cloud-native environments.
• An understanding that data for AI systems must be validated, governed and traceable, not only available.
• Ability to build production-grade infrastructure that scales without manual intervention.
• Experience with knowledge graph integration, master data management and customer data handling in enterprise settings.
• Ability to work across application engineers, platform teams, delivery squads and data science teams, and to set standards they will follow.
• A track record of building the data layer that production systems rely on.
• Working knowledge of agentic AI in daily practice, AI adoption, quality assurance of AI output, context engineering, and AI-assisted automation and prototyping.
• Strength in learning quickly, teamwork, solving complex problems, creative thinking and clear communication.
• Experience handling personal data (PII).
