Description

The company is hiring a senior engineer for its CSfC systems work, based in its Secure Networking and Compute technical service delivery team. The national team supports customers remotely or on their premises while networking and network security products are deployed and run.

You would sit on the Services Execution team, which provides senior engineering support for Engineering and Implementation (E&I) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts. The role helps design and deploy Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) data center networks and requires quick deployment to customer locations across the USA and DoD installations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Gather customer business requirements and produce architecture and design documents.
  • Write and run proof of concept and deployment acceptance test plans, and document the results in test reports.
  • Create implementation guides with configuration templates and deployment plans for data center networking products.
  • Carry out complex deployment plans, and help engineering teams do the same.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues by isolating and analyzing the root cause.
  • Log and report software and hardware defects.
  • Assess software and code upgrades for CSfC enclaves, then help with or perform those upgrades.
  • Work with OEM vendors and customer teams to resolve networking issues.
  • Study system needs and take part in system development, process analysis, design and re-engineering.
  • Apply technology from hardware, software, databases, operating systems and networks to business problems across the enterprise.
  • Define IT system architecture that integrates multiple platforms, operating systems and applications.
  • Set system specifications, input and output processes, and operating parameters that keep hardware and software compatible and secure.
  • Coordinate subsystem design and whole-system integration, and find and fix gaps in program support.
  • Document the framework for integrating and rolling out changes to technical standards.
  • Help build and run an architecture governance process.

Requirements

  • Either a Bachelor's degree in information technology with 10+ years of related experience, or VCAP 6.x Data Center Virtualization (DCV) with 10+ years of related experience (preferred).
  • Deep expertise in VMware virtualization.
  • Deep expertise in VMware server virtualization, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Virtual SAN (vSAN) and vRealize Operations (vROPS).
  • Solid hands-on experience operating Virtual Distributed vSwitches (VDS) and other virtual networking technologies.
  • Experience with Ethernet switching, TCP/UDP and their common uses, and load balancing technologies.
  • Experience deploying or maintaining OEM products such as Dell, EMC, Cisco and SonicWall.
  • Understanding of data center architectures and design principles.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Experience with NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or related cross domain technologies such as AFRL SecureView and Forcepoint Trusted Thin Client.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community policies and protocols.
