Cleared DevOps Engineer

Description

The DevOps Engineer supports mission-critical platforms using cloud, automation, and distributed systems, keeping AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments secure, reliable, and efficient across multiple classification levels.

The role also helps tune resource use and simplify workflows for federal mission partners.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud-based and on-prem DevOps environments.
• Watch compute, storage, networking, and platform components daily and resolve problems as they arise.
• Work with cross-functional colleagues on workload management, patching, Active Directory administration, onboarding, and troubleshooting.
• Improve operations, resource use, and performance through automation and capacity planning.
• Give management and internal customers clear analysis and feedback on escalated issues and service requests.
• Deploy applications across multiple classification levels.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, capability development, and implementation planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, such as TKG or Konvoy.
• 5+ years in DevOps, covering configuration management (Ansible preferred, or Chef or Puppet), application deployment, security practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform.
• 5+ years working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or other major providers.
• 5+ years administering Windows Server and/or Linux systems.
• 3+ years working with identity management tools such as Active Directory, Keycloak, AWS IAM, or Radiant Logic.
• 3+ years deploying and maintaining containerized applications such as Jira, Confluence, Mattermost, or GitLab.
• 3+ years of scripting in PowerShell and/or Bash.
• A solid grasp of core networking principles.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+.
• Bonus: AWS Associate-level certifications.
• Bonus: a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or 2+ years of cloud or systems engineering experience in place of one.
• Bonus: 4+ years of debugging experience, including log analysis, stack traces, and permissions issues.
• Bonus: 3+ years of network troubleshooting, including DNS, security groups, and route tables.

Conditions

Active Secret clearance or higher is required.

Base pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is $94,000 - $187,600 USD.

Pay is set by location, role, skill set, and experience, and ranges reflect local labor costs as local law requires.
