Description

The role is hybrid, with an average of 2 days per week in a company office.

The company helps customers connect, protect and analyze their data and applications, from edge to cloud.

You will be the technical owner of one or more product domains, shaping architecture, design and code quality while mentoring engineers.

You will lead through influence as well as direct people management, working closely with Product Leads and Domain Architects on scalable, maintainable, high-performing solutions.

You will be the on-site leader for the company's first group in Ireland, which operates as an extension of the Israeli office and is responsible for all company employees at that location.

Beyond your technical domain, you will help build the site's culture, act as the local contact across functions and keep the site productive as it grows.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical quality, design and roadmap for your domain or domains.
  • Make AI adoption a core principle of the new team by championing practical use of AI tools and practices in daily engineering.
  • Set best practice through design reviews, code reviews and technical mentoring.
  • Take part in architecture discussions and keep work aligned across domains.
  • Solve hard problems such as performance, fault tolerance and live production issues.
  • Build a culture of learning, innovation and technical excellence.
  • Plan and deliver features, allocating resources so goals and timelines match organizational roadmaps.
  • Work with Product Leads on priorities, backlog and feasibility.
  • Find process and cost-saving improvements, using metrics to drive operational excellence and learning.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, setting expectations on deliverables, quality, schedules and costs.
  • Lead a team of individual contributors who design, build and sustain products, enhancements and updates.
  • Help recruit for the new team, assessing technical skill, ownership and cultural fit.
  • Handle onboarding, performance goals, coaching and career development for your team.
  • Build a top-tier engineering team that delivers strong results.
  • Learn the product, architecture and business flows from the ground up so you can enable and grow the team.
  • Serve as the main local contact for HR, IT, Facilities and management, keeping daily operations running smoothly.
  • Support onboarding, engagement and wellbeing at the site as it scales, building a sense of community.
  • Work with global stakeholders and leadership to align the site with company goals, values and standards.
  • Lead site-wide initiatives, events and communication that strengthen collaboration and belonging.
  • Represent the company locally and promote a positive, inclusive site culture.

Requirements

  • 10 years or more of C experience, including complex, multi-threaded, performance-critical programming.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V and OpenShift.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools to speed up software development, with a habit of continuous learning and interest in modern AI tooling.
  • Deep understanding of software system design, development methods and integration across varied platforms and technologies.
  • Track record of taking large features and designs from rough ideas and requirements through development into production.
  • Strong communicator who works well across functions, including negotiation, presenting and influencing.
  • Skilled at coaching, team building and resolving conflict.
  • Advanced project management: time and risk management, resource prioritization and project structuring.
  • Inventive problem-solver.
  • Experience leading and representing people across functions, ideally as a site or on-site leader who builds culture and cross-team collaboration.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Typically 10 years of experience, including at least 4 years managing people.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, virtualization, storage and networking.
  • Familiarity with Scrum or Agile.
  • Prior experience building, organizing or scaling a new team, group or site from scratch.
