AWS Medior Engineer

Description

This is an AWS AI Engineer position on the AI engineering team. You will take ownership of designing, building, testing and shipping generative AI solutions and autonomous AI agents on AWS.

You will work with senior AI engineers and architects on hard technical and business problems, explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders, and carry work through to delivered business value on the AWS stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production generative AI applications and AI agents using Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker and orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Help design and evaluate RAG pipelines, prompt templates and vector search integrations.
• Support the full ML lifecycle on AWS, covering data preparation, training, deployment and performance monitoring.
• Write basic infrastructure as code with Terraform or AWS CDK and help build CI/CD pipelines for AI workloads.
• Put guardrails, data privacy and security controls in place in line with AWS best practice and regulations such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.
• Work with data engineers, platform teams and clients, and explain architectures, trade-offs and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, AI or data science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in cloud software engineering, preferably on AWS, and in Python, with a record of solving real business problems.
• Working knowledge of GenAI concepts such as LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering and vector databases, plus traditional machine learning.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS core services (S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway) and AWS AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker, Bedrock AgentCore).
• Fluent in English and Dutch. French is a plus.
• An analytical problem solver who takes initiative and owns deliverables from concept to production.
• An AWS certification, for example Cloud Practitioner, AI Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate.
• Experience with vector databases (OpenSearch, pgvector) or agent frameworks.
• Personal projects or open-source contributions that show AI applications.
