Automotive E/E System and Software architect

The company is a leader in processing, networking and power management chips for automotive, and is pushing to speed up the market by anticipating needs and offering full system solutions.

The automotive market is moving fast, with many parallel innovations across all domains and adoption of advanced technologies.

Software, functional safety and security are the three most complex areas for the market. The company wants to build system and software expertise on E/E architecture and the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) to engage with automotive OEMs early.

The new Automotive System and Platform Architecture organization is being set up to build system and software expertise and to support OEM advanced engineering teams on sub-systems where the company has strength in processing, networking, power management, security and safety.

The role suits a system and software architect who enjoys analysis and experimentation on next-generation architectures and on the CoreRide platform architecture, including its system and software definition and execution.

Responsibilities

• Use architecture and software engineering tools to assess trade-offs, such as network topology, functional safety, wake-up times, communication latency, security and power distribution, and how company products affect them.
• Build prototypes on different archetypes to explore partitioning and measure key performance indicators for power and performance.
• Work with company engineering and architecture teams on architecture exploration, analysis and execution.
• Define system and software architecture solutions for CoreRide platforms across central and zonal archetypes.
• Write system and software architecture specifications and support execution teams with fast feedback to reach convergence.

Requirements

• Experience defining and developing system and software architecture.
• Knowledge of vehicle functions and software platforms, from drivers to middleware, including their trade-offs and key performance metrics.
• Strong software architecture skills for defining frameworks and components, with an understanding of dependencies across the ECU or full vehicle system.
• 8+ years of experience in the automotive market.
• Experience working with automotive Tier 1 suppliers and/or OEMs.
• Experience with hardware, software and system solutions that enable the evolution of car architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills.
