Description

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an Associate Technical Product Manager to lead roadmap execution for foundational user interface capabilities within the Charles River and Alpha Platforms.

This role is ideal for a product professional with 4+ years of technical product management experience who is highly technical, curious, and comfortable using modern tools to solve problems independently. We are looking for someone fluent in generative AI tools, modern web technologies, APIs, data, and user experience, and who naturally looks for faster and better ways to get work done.

You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with technology directly. For example, rather than defaulting to a PowerPoint presentation, you might use AI-assisted tools to quickly create a more compelling interactive presentation. Rather than requesting a new report, you might use an available API and tools such as VS Code and GitHub Copilot to prototype a simple web application that answers the question. Rather than manually analyzing a large set of product feedback, you might use an LLM to help identify themes and then validate the results yourself.

We are looking for someone who combines this builder mindset with strong product judgment, an understanding of user experience, and the ability to lead product discovery and execution in a complex enterprise environment.

Why This Role Is Important to Us

You will join the Platform UI Framework team within the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS), a market-leading SaaS platform that powers front-to-back investment workflows for some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

As we scale our platform, your talent will be critical in evolving our foundational UI capabilities, improving developer and user experiences, and enabling rapid innovation across the organization. Your ability to combine product leadership with practical technical fluency will help the team investigate product questions, communicate ideas, and validate solutions more quickly.

What You Will Be Responsible For

Collect and refine business and functional requirements from clients, engineering, architecture, security, operations, and other stakeholders, ensuring platform capabilities meet user, performance, scalability, security, and compliance needs.

Lead product discovery and technical deep dives, translating complex user and platform needs into clear product requirements, prioritized backlogs, and actionable roadmaps.

Own roadmap execution for foundational UI capabilities such as reusable web components, desktop containers, interoperability, design systems, and core UI services.

Engage with engineering and QA members throughout delivery to clarify requirements, evaluate trade-offs, remove ambiguity, and support the timely delivery of key initiatives.

Partner with UX designers and engineers to create experiences that are intuitive, efficient, accessible, consistent, and technically achievable.

Use modern technology, including AI-assisted tools, APIs, automation, and lightweight prototyping, to independently investigate product questions, analyze data, communicate ideas, and validate potential solutions.

Create lightweight prototypes, scripts, visualizations, or web applications when a tangible artifact will produce better insight or stakeholder feedback than a traditional document or presentation.

Promote a smooth developer experience by helping ensure platform services, components, documentation, and workflows are understandable and intuitive.

Use product analytics, user feedback, and direct stakeholder engagement to understand adoption, identify friction, and shape roadmap priorities.

Become a subject matter expert in the coverage area and provide informed recommendations that help shape product strategy and growth.

Support sales, professional services, and client support activities to improve the client experience and inform future product investments.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in technical product management, business analysis, platform engineering, UX, software development, or a related technology role within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
  • Strong understanding of product management practices, including discovery, requirements definition, user stories, prioritization, roadmaps, iterative delivery, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong interest in user experience and interaction design, with the ability to understand complex workflows and identify opportunities to simplify them.
  • Technical fluency with modern web applications, including familiarity with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, REST APIs, JSON, authentication, web services, and cloud-based applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use generative AI and AI-assisted tools as part of everyday work, including research, analysis, prototyping, communication, coding, and problem solving.
  • Comfort using tools such as VS Code, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, command-line utilities, APIs, and browser developer tools to explore ideas and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to create lightweight prototypes, scripts, visualizations, or web applications to explore a product idea or answer a business question. Production-level software engineering experience is not required.
  • Comfort working with data and selecting the right tool for the problem, whether Excel, SQL, an API, Power BI, or a lightweight custom application.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact platform capabilities.
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineers, architects, designers, security teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and enterprise security or compliance requirements is beneficial.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Figma, GitHub, or similar product development tools is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in financial services, enterprise SaaS, or another regulated industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and apply them pragmatically.
  • Supervisory Responsibility:
