Associate Director, Complex Program Management

Responsibilities

• Lead large, multi-workstream programs that span several projects, teams and stakeholders.
• Turn strategic goals into coordinated execution plans, and manage the interdependencies between them.
• Ensure measurable results across scope, schedule, cost and risk, judged by customer and business outcomes rather than individual project milestones.
• Define the program vision, outcomes, success measures and roadmap in line with customer and business objectives.
• Manage dependencies, sequencing and trade-offs across scope, schedule and resources for multiple interconnected projects.
• Set up and run program governance, covering cadence, reporting, risk management and escalation paths.
• Guide project managers so they apply consistent delivery approaches, standards and execution.
• Manage program financials, including forecasting, tracking and alignment to approved commitments.
• Spot and reduce cross-project risks and issues before they affect outcomes.
• Use data and program metrics to track progress, forecast results and inform decisions.
• Keep stakeholders at every level aligned, transparent and shared in accountability.
• Make sure program deliverables meet agreed quality, compliance and customer expectations.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading complex programs with several concurrent projects and interdependencies.
• Strong grounding in program governance, planning, risk management and delivery controls.
• Ability to manage program budgets, forecasts and trade-offs.
• Experience coordinating and influencing project managers and cross-functional teams without direct authority over them.
• Skill in turning strategic objectives into executable plans with clear outcomes and milestones.
• Experience using data, dashboards and metrics to manage performance and predict risks.
• Ability to keep delivery on track when priorities change.
• Preferred: certification such as PgMP, PMP or PRINCE2.
• Preferred: experience with agile or hybrid delivery models.
• Preferred: familiarity with large-scale IT or transformation programs.
• Preferred: experience managing external partners or vendors.
• Preferred: exposure to customer-facing delivery environments.
