Associate Cloud Engineer

Description

The company builds cloud-native infrastructure for edge computing and 5G networks, and this role sits in its Cloud Platform Engineering team.

You would help build, test, and refine software for highly distributed cloud platforms, growing your skills in Kubernetes, OpenStack, containers, automation, and open-source work.

The team includes open-source projects such as StarlingX.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain software components in C, C++, and Python.
• Help build cloud platform components for edge and distributed computing.
• Support the integration, validation, testing, and automation of cloud infrastructure.
• Find and fix software faults through debugging, root cause analysis, and automated tests.
• Work with engineering teams around the world, and review code within an Agile process.
• Write up technical solutions, designs, and implementation details, applying good practice for scalability, reliability, and quality.
• Contribute to open-source and cloud-native projects, including StarlingX.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Solid C and C++ programming skills, plus experience using Python for scripting and automation.
• A working grasp of object-oriented programming, software development methods, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and software development basics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and an interest in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
• The ability to work well in cross-functional teams and explain technical topics clearly.
• Preferred: exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, StarlingX, CI/CD, distributed systems, edge computing, telecommunications or 5G, or open-source development.

Conditions

Base pay is $65,000 to $80,000 CAD, plus an annual incentive bonus.

Pay within that range depends on education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, abilities, and internal equity.

The role is hybrid.
