Description

The company's Applied AI Engineering team helps organizations turn advanced AI capabilities into production systems that are safe, reliable and useful. The team works with customer executives, product and engineering groups, security leads and transformation teams to find worthwhile opportunities, speed up implementation and scale what proves itself.

Enterprise deployments are hard because of their complexity, not because of any single industry. Typical challenges include legacy architectures, varied data environments, security and governance demands, many stakeholder groups and organization-wide change. The team feeds lessons from these deployments back into products and reusable patterns for customers.

This role works directly with large organizations to design, build and deploy AI systems that produce measurable business results. You will combine technical judgment, hands-on engineering and customer leadership to move ideas from use-case selection and architecture through prototyping, evaluation, production launch and scale. Success is judged by systems in production, lasting adoption and real customer impact, not by activity or good demos alone. The work involves real deployments at the edge of AI, and your input will shape how the company's products evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Work with enterprise customers to find high-value opportunities and turn them into architectures, implementation plans, evaluation strategies and clear success criteria.
  • Design, build and deploy AI systems that solve important customer problems and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Write code to build prototypes, evaluation harnesses, reference implementations, integrations and production accelerators.
  • Make sound technical decisions about models, agents, retrieval, tools, data, reliability, observability, latency, cost, safety, security and governance.
  • Investigate complex implementation problems, reproduce failures, test hypotheses and clear blockers.
  • Help customers move from promising prototypes to reliable production systems with lasting adoption and scaled impact.
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams and with the company's product, research, engineering, security and go-to-market teams, turning deployment experience into useful product feedback.
  • Build reusable architectures, tooling, playbooks and technical guidance that speed up future enterprise deployments.

Requirements

  • Have a proven record of designing, building and delivering AI or machine learning systems in enterprise settings, including taking systems from prototype to production. Backgrounds in applied AI or ML engineering, forward-deployed engineering, software engineering, customer engineering, solutions architecture or technical consulting all count.
  • Have made substantial personal contributions in code, architecture, evaluation, debugging or production engineering, not only in program or stakeholder management.
  • Be highly proficient in Python and comfortable across an AI application stack. Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript or another relevant language is valued.
  • Know how to evaluate AI systems systematically, using representative data, graders, production signals and human judgment.
  • Have handled enterprise production requirements such as integrations, reliability, observability, security, privacy, data governance, performance and cost.
  • Can link technical decisions to customer workflows, adoption and measurable business outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and credibly with hands-on engineers, technical leaders, security teams, product leaders and executives.
  • Show high agency, strong technical judgment and end-to-end ownership in ambiguous situations.
  • Learn quickly, challenge assumptions constructively and work with humility. Prior experience in a specific industry or with the company's products is not required.
