  • Work across Design Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Sales to solve technical issues and improve product performance.
  • Explain technical concepts and solutions clearly to customers, sales managers and engineers.
  • Find root causes of technical problems and put corrective actions in place.
  • Join customer visits, field evaluations, trade shows and technical training when needed.
  • Keep up with industry trends, competitor technology and new hydraulic applications.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural or Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of engineering experience in hydraulics, fluid power, mobile or industrial equipment, or similar technical work.
  • Proven record of supporting customers through troubleshooting, solution development and product application.
  • Strong grasp of hydraulic systems and hydraulic symbols, and the ability to read, interpret and draw hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience running engineering analysis and documenting results in technical reports and presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage several projects and priorities on your own.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with the ability to work well with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work independently while contributing well in a collaborative team.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience designing Hydraulic Integrated Circuits (HICs).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of mobile and/or industrial hydraulic systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with data acquisition, testing, validation and root-cause analysis methods.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with PLCs, electronic controls, sensors and electro-hydraulic systems.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting OEM customers and field applications.
  • Key competencies: customer focus, technical problem solving, hydraulic systems expertise, engineering analysis, cross-functional collaboration, project management, relationship building and continuous improvement.
  • Physical demands: sitting, standing, walking and hand use to operate office and testing equipment; occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds unassisted; travel to customer sites, manufacturing plants and test locations as needed.
  • Travel: ability and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, as required.

Conditions

Work spans office, laboratory, manufacturing and customer field settings, with occasional exposure to moving machinery, temperature changes and moderate to loud noise during testing or customer support.
