Application Support Specialist 2nd Level Support 100% (f/m/d)

Description

The company is a wealth manager, and this role keeps its IT services continuously available.

The role covers support for software, hardware, end-user devices and networks, plus monitoring, across the full end-user lifecycle.

This is a full-time position (100%).

Responsibilities

• Keep core banking applications running smoothly, with a focus on second-level application support.
• Work through incident tickets from monitoring systems and the local service desk within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with incident managers, application service owners, third-level support, other IT and agile teams, and business stakeholders.
• Join a weekly 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Handle change requests and make sure application processes are followed correctly.
• Take part in periodic releases, including weekend deployments.
• Contribute to projects covering the operational side of existing or newly integrated applications.
• Carry out routine data cleansing and system maintenance.
• Optimise processes and automate repetitive tasks, including handover to L1 in the Control Center.
• Maintain application operations documentation and the knowledge base.
• Support batch job scheduling and monitoring with tools such as Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar.

Requirements

• Complete IT training, such as a computer science degree or an equivalent IT certification.
• Have at least two years of professional experience in application support.
• Have strong Linux skills.
• Have a solid understanding of Windows at server level.
• Be familiar with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools.
• Hold ITIL Foundation certification.
• Have experience with batch job support and scheduling tools such as Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar.
• Have good written and spoken English.
• Think in a process-oriented and analytical way.
• Communicate well and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Be highly motivated and proactive, with an eagerness to learn new concepts.
• Optional: Shell scripting is an advantage.
• Optional: AWA experience is a plus.
• Optional: Ideally, you have experience in banking or financial services and knowledge of financial products.

Weekly 24/7 on-call duty and weekend deployments during release activities.
