Description

The office serves Bronx County, New York, aiming to protect public safety and deliver equal justice to more than 1.4 million residents.

It supports crime victims while keeping defendants treated fairly, and it weighs when stronger penalties serve justice and when they do not.

The team is hiring an Application Developer, listed as IT Project Specialist, job code 95710.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, build, and deploy custom applications for the office's internal processes.
• Write hands-on code for web applications and give technical direction to others when needed.
• Build full stack web applications on Microsoft Azure using App Service, Active Directory, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, Azure CI/CD Pipelines, Azure Functions, Storage, and Oracle or SQL Server databases.
• Collect and document system requirements, then deliver code releases through Agile or Waterfall within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Keep existing systems running by handling production support, investigating problems, and fixing them.

Requirements

• Option one: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication, or a related field, plus four years of full-time experience in the required areas and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology, or domain.
• Option two: an associate degree from an accredited college in one of the same fields, plus six years of full-time experience in the required areas and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology, or domain.
• Option three: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in any field, plus eight years of full-time experience in the required areas and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology, or domain.
• Option four: education and/or experience equivalent to any option above.
• Preferred: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of full-time, non-classroom experience in computer applications development, covering planning, design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management; or a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of full-time, non-classroom IT experience, at least two of them in computer applications development.
• Preferred: at least five years of.NET software development experience, including web and/or client-server development.
