Description

The company is hiring for an AI product role open to a data scientist, AI/ML engineer, or AI product manager who wants to move into product management. It suits someone with solid analytical or AI/ML fundamentals who wants to take on product ownership of NLP and generative AI products.

The work is turning ML, LLM, and agentic AI prototypes into dependable, maintainable services that surface insights from unstructured and semi-structured data across the company's research and development pipeline.

A senior product manager will mentor you, and you will work day to day with data scientists, developers, and scientific subject matter experts. You will get hands-on time with large language model systems and help speed up research toward treatments for patients. Over time you can own one or more products, leading discovery, requirements, stakeholder work, and adoption.

The role sits in a cross-disciplinary team of data scientists, bioinformaticians, and engineers applying AI/ML and data science to drug discovery and development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business partners and scientists to find operational problems and high-value opportunities, and turn vague needs into technical user stories.
  • Own your product's backlog, set its priorities, and arrange it for regular releases.
  • Write clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and value capture plans so technical and business teams agree on what success means.
  • Drive adoption: demo features, run user enablement sessions, collect structured feedback, and track adoption metrics to keep refining the product.
  • Explore structured and unstructured partner data to judge how it can meet their needs.
  • Work with data engineering colleagues to move data science prototypes into reliable production pipelines that follow software engineering best practices.
  • Set clear evaluation metrics and confirm that performance is good enough for the business need.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in data science, AI/ML engineering, agentic AI, AI product management, or a related field.
  • High school diploma.
  • Required skills: asset management, benefits management, biomedical informatics, computer science, data domain knowledge, data engineering, data science, exploratory analysis, generative AI, LangGraph, large language models (LLMs), management system development, the Pandas Python library, product adoption, product discovery, product improvements, product management, product ownership, prompt engineering, requirements management, retrieval-augmented generation, stakeholder relationship management, strategic planning, system design, plus one more skill.
  • Preferred: strong Python, SQL, git, and data manipulation skills with libraries such as Pandas.
  • Preferred: experience building model evaluation frameworks, such as LLM benchmarks or precision and recall measures for NLP tasks, to show a model is viable for the business.
  • Preferred: hands-on or academic experience with NLP tools such as Hugging Face, spaCy, or LangChain for parsing unstructured or semi-structured data, and with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph.
  • Preferred: practical work with LLM workflows, including retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning.
  • Preferred: a strong wish to move into product management, ideally with experience writing technical requirements, defining success metrics, or structuring user stories.
  • Preferred: the ability to explain complex data science ideas to non-technical stakeholders, and a willingness to learn the domain.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI coding assistants is a plus.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, biomedical informatics, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
