Description

You will join the Methods, Analysis, and Design team in the Fuels and Digital Engineering Organization, which applies current and new methods to improve fuel design.

The team uses established nuclear engineering software and builds new methods and tools when needed.

The work centers on BWR core design and nuclear methods, including BWR fuel development, non-BWR core design, design procedures, and new methods for reactor design.

The role suits an engineer early in their career who will keep building depth in reactor physics, neutronics, and thermal-hydraulics.

The Warsaw site was founded in 2007 as a gas power engineering center and now carries out engineering for the company's nuclear energy business in Poland.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical work on BWR fuel development and non-BWR core design.
  • Carry out engineering analyses for core and fuel design.
  • Help write, document, and refine design application procedures.
  • Assess new methods for reactor design and help apply the useful ones.
  • Work alongside senior engineers on using, maintaining, and documenting nuclear analysis codes and methods.
  • Prepare technical data, calculations, and results, and present them to internal stakeholders.
  • Support method users through documentation, help, and training.
  • Help with project planning, execution, and status reporting.
  • Coordinate with colleagues on engineering and technical issues.
  • Keep work at a high standard that meets customer requirements, business quality standards, and applicable regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience in reactor core design and at least one of: neutronics analysis, thermal-hydraulics analysis, or reactor design methods.
  • Experience with at least one neutronics code, such as Serpent, MCNP, LANCR, PANAC, OpenMC, or equivalents, or at least one thermal-hydraulics or systems code, such as ISCOR, the COBRA family, PARCS, TRACG, or RELAP.
  • Enough experience to perform reactor core design and analysis with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork, integrity, transparency, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
  • A positive, collaborative, adaptable attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Continued growth in oral and written communication.
  • Desired: an M.S. in nuclear engineering.
  • Desired: experience with reactor physics methods, core simulation, and fuel performance analysis.
  • Desired: experience with BWR core and fuel design.
  • Desired: programming in Python, Bash or Batch scripting, and one of Fortran, C, or C++.
  • Desired: familiarity with engineering calculation tools, technical documentation, and analysis workflows.
  • Desired: strong organization and the ability to manage several tasks and priorities at once.
  • Desired: quick learning of new technical methods and tools.
  • Desired: curiosity, initiative, and a drive to expand technical skill.
  • Desired: good communication and willingness to work across teams.
  • Desired: a firm commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Conditions

The preferred place of work is the company's Warsaw, Poland engineering center, as an integral part of its global engineering structure.

Only people legally authorized to work in Poland will be employed for this role.
