VP Senior Applied AI Full-Stack Engineer

Description

The company builds high-performance web data visualization tools and enterprise reporting systems for finance. This is a senior, expert-level technical role.

You will build interactive analytical web applications with rich frontends, data-heavy backends and distributed query engines. A second core focus, which is mandatory, is designing custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools that let AI agents and LLMs query, analyze and report on very large datasets securely through Starburst.

This is not a typical engineering role. You will direct AI agents across several workstreams, check their output for production safety and coach others to do the same. Success is measured by outcomes, quality and the team's growth, not by lines of code.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of FinTech tools for investment bankers, front-office traders and financial analysts, turning complex finance workflows into clear, high-fidelity web interfaces.
• Build highly interactive analytical dashboards in Angular and React that let users slice, dice and explore very large datasets in real time.
• Use Starburst (Trino) to query large distributed datasets with sub-second latency.
• Design and implement Java and Spring Boot microservices tuned for low-latency retrieval, heavy aggregation and streaming large result sets to the frontend.
• Design and optimize scalable ETL processes for large volumes of financial data.
• Mandatory: design, build and maintain custom MCP servers and tools so AI agents and LLMs can securely reach internal databases, APIs and reporting engines.
• Architect enterprise document generation engines using the Aspose suite that produce high-fidelity financial reports from complex templates.
• Build complex visualizations and reporting engines hands-on while mentoring junior engineers.
• Critically review and take ownership of all AI-generated Java, Angular, React and SQL code, checking structural soundness, security compliance and production readiness.
• Apply a working understanding of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) to every project.

Requirements

• Strong grounding in systems analysis, design patterns, data analysis and the full software development lifecycle, including unit testing and CI/CD.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for scalable, low-latency microservices and reactive data streaming APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience with Angular 19+, React, TypeScript, HTML5 and WebSockets for data-intensive dashboards.
• Hands-on experience with Starburst (Trino) querying massive distributed datasets across federated enterprise sources.
• Deep experience with Oracle, SQL Server and MongoDB, including physical and logical design, data modeling and performance tuning.
• Proven record of designing high-throughput ETL pipelines and optimizing data flows for real-time reporting.
• Experience building document generation engines with Aspose.Words, Aspose.Cells and Aspose.PDF.
• Demonstrated ability to build custom MCP servers that connect LLMs and AI agents securely to enterprise data.
• Hands-on skill with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot, and the ability to write structured prompts and high-quality context, such as schemas and API specs, for AI agents.
• Working knowledge of GitHub for source control and Jira for project management.
• Functional understanding of banking, with the ability to explain why the work matters, not only how it is built.
• Preferred: 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: experience designing agentic AI workflows and integrating AI agents into CI/CD pipelines.
• Preferred: solid understanding of event-driven systems and real-time message streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Salary range for the primary location: $120,800.00 to $170,800.00.
