This hybrid position can be filled in one of several offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest, and the work can have a local impact as well as a wider regional one.

You would join a team that wins high-profile projects and shapes the communities it serves.

Responsibilities

  • Support a team that handles traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation and conceptual planning and design.

  • Take on different roles across traffic and ITS projects, including emerging technology work that follows the systems engineering process.
  • Help produce technical deliverables and review the work and documents of early-career staff.
  • Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within budget while meeting company quality standards.
  • Work directly with other engineering groups, external clients and sub-consultants.
  • Handle the primary design elements of engineering work on your own, with little supervision.
  • Work with business development leaders to identify project opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum: a bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and 4 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of experience and education are considered.
  • Preferred: at least 5 years of experience in civil engineering areas such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering and traffic staging, following agency and DOT standards.
  • Preferred: a registered Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Preferred: experience with traffic and traffic simulation software and design platforms.
  • Preferred: clear written and spoken communication, good interpersonal skills, strong English, time management skills and a positive attitude.
  • You can work well in a team and also work independently when needed.
