Description

At Julius Baer, we celebrate and value the individual qualities you bring, enabling you to be impactful, to be entrepreneurial, to be empowered, and to create value beyond wealth. Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.

At Julius Baer, we enable our teams to live DevOps practices day in and day out. A key part of this mission is providing a state-of-the-art engineering platform that helps teams build, test, release, deploy, operate, and monitor software securely and efficiently.

We are looking for a Test Automation Platform Engineer to join our product team. As part of an agile release train, you will build and evolve products that empower development teams across the bank to deliver high-quality software faster and with greater confidence.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy taking ownership, shaping technical solutions, and creating an outstanding developer experience. You will have the opportunity to influence product direction, drive innovation, and turn ideas into capabilities that make a real impact for engineering teams.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Own and evolve the bank's global test automation platform as a member of a product-oriented engineering team.

Drive the platform lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to operation and continuous improvement.

Collaborate closely with development teams to understand their needs, gather feedback, and translate it into valuable platform capabilities.

Champion developer experience by identifying pain points and proactively improving workflows and self-service capabilities.

Drive the adoption of testing-as-code through an API-first platform with seamless CI/CD integration.

Build and enhance self-service capabilities for test data generation, test execution, and reporting.

Contribute to the platform roadmap and actively shape the future of software quality engineering within the organization.

YOUR PROFILE

Proven track record in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience building, operating, or extending test automation solutions, engineering platforms, or developer tooling.

Hands-on experience with performance, functional, or end-to-end testing frameworks.

Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, k6, Selenium, or comparable testing technologies.

Experience as a software engineer or platform engineer, ideally working with Java or TypeScript.

Experience integrating testing solutions with CI/CD platforms, particularly GitLab, and issuing test reports into ticketing systems like Jira is an advantage.

Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, APIs, automation, and cloud-native technologies.

What Helps You Succeed in this Role

You enjoy taking ownership and driving initiatives from idea to production.

You have a product mindset and care about the experience of your users.

You proactively identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into practical solutions.

You communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders.

You are comfortable challenging the status quo and bringing your own ideas to the table.

You thrive in agile environments and enjoy solving complex engineering challenges as part of a team.
