The team is hiring an engineer for networks and communications work, such as optical transmission systems and wide area networks, mostly built on Cisco solutions.
The role sits in large, complex HVDC and AC substation turnkey (EPC) projects.
Responsibilities
Integrate components and products across the project by coordinating internal and external suppliers and producing the design in-house.
Share best practices and explain how your area connects with the others during design reviews and interface alignment.
Assess different solutions with some independent judgment, challenge supplier offers and customer requirements, and move the parties to agreement through formal queries.
Requirements
Engineering, technology or systems engineering experience, at the level of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma with relevant experience.
Cisco ASR 903 and IE9X series experience: managing system resources, understanding implementation, configuration and the automated tools available.
Advanced MPLS L3VPN configuration, plus LDP and RSVP-TE for traffic engineering.
Practical understanding of optical transport, including wavelength allocation, transponder configuration, and passive fiber components such as cables, splices and patch components.
Expert-level VLAN, sub-interface and complex VRF configuration for multi-tenant environments.
Solid skills in configuring and testing high availability features: BFD, HSRP/VRRP and MPLS Fast Reroute, aiming for sub-second convergence.
Deep knowledge of BGP (MP-BGP, route maps, prefix lists, community strings) and OSPF or IS-IS in a multi-area service provider network.
Optional: using automation such as Python, scripts or AI-driven tools for everyday work.
Optional: experience with monitoring tools and packet capture such as Wireshark, with hands-on troubleshooting.
Optional: Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDE or CCIE) would be an advantage.
