Description

The Global Manufacturing Electrical and SDV team works on software-defined vehicles and the automotive software that shapes them.

This is a full-time, onsite role based at the Warren Tech Center.

The role builds the tooling and test programs used for software reflash in finished vehicle yards, so that product software updates can run efficiently and consistently worldwide.

You will prepare, check, and keep up the tools and configurations that make reflash events run smoothly and reliably.

The work involves close collaboration with software engineering, manufacturing, and execution teams to get yard-ready solutions in place, so updates arrive on time and customers get a better experience at delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and check the tools, processes, and procedures that support vehicle reflash.
  • Create customized flash and test configuration files for yard reflash work.
  • Be the technical contact for reflash campaigns, resolving issues, keeping tools ready, and working with deployment teams to improve tool performance, reliability, and ease of use based on field feedback.
  • Lead the technical side of reflash support across Europe, South America, Korea, and Australia.
  • Drive continuous improvement in yard reflash operations through tool upkeep, process automation, and user-friendly applications that make execution faster.
  • Lead kickoff meetings with plant, program, and engineering teams to set out the scope of each reflash campaign.
  • Train new hires, colleagues, and contractors on reflash processes and tools, and write up standard work for consistent execution.
  • Help build a culture that adapts to change and handles future organizational and industry challenges.
  • Build lasting working relationships with software, manufacturing, and program management teams to combine efforts on future innovations.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience supporting vehicle software reflash, diagnostic, or test work in manufacturing, yard, or end-of-line settings.
  • A track record of working independently on complex vehicle software reflash, covering tool preparation, validation, troubleshooting, and readiness for deployment.
  • Proven skill in developing, configuring, validating, and maintaining vehicle flash and test tools used in manufacturing or yard reflash.
  • In-depth working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, diagnostic workflows, and in-vehicle software systems.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle software and diagnostic tools such as NeoVI-Fire2, vSPY, or DPS, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix complex, non-standard software or tooling problems that affect reflash without direct guidance.
  • Willingness to support production-critical work, including extended hours, weekend support, and up to 50% domestic and international travel.
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience with vehicle software systems in manufacturing.
  • Preferred: solid understanding of vehicle manufacturing and yard operations, including the software update flow, end-of-line testing, and production constraints.
  • Preferred: advanced experience developing, integrating, or supporting End of Line Test (EOLT) software.
  • Preferred: ability to work effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous manufacturing settings with limited direction.
  • Preferred: experience with continuous improvement focused on tool stability, automation, cycle time reduction, or execution quality.
  • Preferred: comfort acting as the technical escalation point or subject-matter expert during high-impact reflash events.
  • Preferred: ability to document technical processes clearly, build reusable tooling artifacts, and share knowledge with peers and partners.
  • Preferred: experience working closely with software engineering, manufacturing engineering, test, and quality teams to resolve complex reflash or vehicle software issues.
  • Preferred: prior onsite experience in vehicle assembly plants or finished vehicle yards.
  • Preferred: travel of at least 50% or more on a frequent basis.
