Description

The company is building the largest swarming UAV and the most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. It is close to launching the first aircraft designed for swarming, along with command and control software that lets human operators direct swarms of thousands of mixed autonomous assets.

The team has founded and exited several startups, closed defense deals worth billions of dollars, and designed and built 30+ novel aircraft. Members have come from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin and Boom Supersonic.

This is a small recruiting team at a defense company that has to win. The approach is high touch and never scripted, grounded in recruiting fundamentals but always looking for better methods. Hiring is planned for what a person will do in two and five years, not just next quarter. The team would rather set the industry standard than follow it, moves quickly, puts the mission first, and will have the harder conversation with a hiring manager before making the easy hire.

Responsibilities

  • This is an aviation specialist role, not a generalist sourcing job where you learn aircraft on the job.
  • Find the structures, aero, propulsion, avionics, systems and flight test engineers designing the aircraft, and talk to them as peers.
  • Build and run sourcing pipelines for aircraft engineering roles from start to finish.
  • Learn the aerospace talent market in depth, including every program, team and engineer worth knowing.
  • Write outreach in an engineer's technical language so they know right away you understand their work.
  • Tell apart someone who worked on an aircraft from someone who shaped one.
  • Track your own results against hard numbers: response rate, pass-through rate and hires.
  • Support other teams when capacity allows, with aircraft work always taking priority.

Requirements

  • You have a real connection to flying or building aircraft, through piloting, A&P work, flight line or flight test, military aviation, experimental building, or a collegiate team that got something airborne.
  • You can discuss an aircraft engineer's actual work, not just their resume.
  • You understand primary structure, flight controls, propulsion and avionics, and why the tradeoffs between them matter.
  • You have [2+] years of sourcing or recruiting experience, ideally for engineering roles.
  • You keep searching when the obvious routes run out.
  • You want to work somewhere the bar is high and stays high.
  • This role is not a fit if you are a strong generalist sourcer hoping to move into aerospace, if your aviation knowledge comes from reading job descriptions, or if you prefer high volume across many domains over deep focus on one.

Conditions

To meet U.S. Government export regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or someone eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Benefits

  • Meaningful equity in a fast-growing defense technology company.
  • Competitive base salary based on experience.
  • Medical, dental, vision and 401k coverage.
  • PTO and paid sick leave.
  • Monthly wellness stipend.
  • Catered lunch every day in the office.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • The chance to make a direct impact on a critical national security mission.
  • Work alongside a world-class team of engineers and operators on genuinely hard problems.
