Description

The company builds a full-stack AI cloud platform for developers and enterprises, covering everything from data and model training to production deployment, so customers avoid the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.

Engineers build the systems here, including GPU orchestration, inference optimisation, compute, storage, networking and applied AI.

The company is listed on Nasdaq (ticker NBIS), headquartered in Amsterdam, and runs R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel.

The team has over 1,500 people, with hundreds of engineers in hardware, software and AI R&D.

This is a Technical Project Manager role for Network Infrastructure. It is not a status-chasing job: you need an engineering background, having built, run and recovered production systems, so you can work credibly with SREs, software engineers, network engineers, security and platform teams.

You will work largely on your own, set up project management practices for the area from scratch, and stay close to the technical detail.

Technical depth matters. You do not need to be the top expert in every area, but you should understand real trade-offs such as rollback, blast radius, provisioning constraints, SLO ownership, and why network device CI/CD differs from deploying stateless services.

The product may be internal: secrets and robot-user management, an SLO framework, a firmware rollout process, network observability, network device CI/CD, or safer day-0 and day-N automation. Success means engineers trust the tool, the NOC uses the workflow, alerts are actionable, runbooks are accurate, and the new approach becomes the standard. Getting there takes documentation, feedback, communication and persuading technical peers.

This is execution management, not people management: you are not responsible for careers, performance reviews or promotions. You will make cross-team initiatives land.

The organisation is early-stage and scaling fast, with automation, observability, reliability standards, provisioning, operational safety and cross-site consistency all being built now. You will help shape how it works.

Responsibilities

  • Take cross-team network infrastructure initiatives from a vague problem to an executable plan, then through to adoption.
  • Set scope and success criteria, align owners across SRE, software, network, security, platform and data center teams, and drive decisions to closure.
  • Review designs and technical proposals, question missing assumptions, and raise failure modes, dependencies and risks early.
  • Track dependencies and risks across teams and time zones, and give stakeholders clear, honest status.
  • Drive adoption so tools and workflows become the default, backed by documentation, runbooks and feedback loops.
  • Set up and run lightweight planning, prioritisation, reviews and post-launch follow-up.
  • Coordinate with regional teams and external partners, such as vendors and carriers, on rolling out new network capabilities.
  • Turn operational pain points and engineering input into a clear, prioritised backlog.
  • Possible initiatives you may own: a user and secrets management system for network infrastructure, covering robot-user lifecycle, safe key and password rotation, revocation, break-glass access, support for both agent-based and push-based devices, and integration with existing secrets backends.
  • Possible initiatives you may own: an SLO framework for network services and components, covering SLIs, SLOs, dashboards, alerts, ownership, tiering, and a clear link between reliability targets and engineering investment.
  • Possible initiatives you may own: CI/CD for network devices, where configuration changes, validation, staged rollout, rollback and blast-radius control are disciplined and repeatable rather than manual and risky.
  • Possible initiatives you may own: fleet-wide operational work such as firmware consistency, device lifecycle hygiene, observability coverage, monitoring quality, alert ownership, or production readiness for new network capabilities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in technical project management, engineering management, or a hands-on engineering role (SRE, software, network or infrastructure), with a record of delivering complex cross-team infrastructure projects.
  • A real engineering background: you have built and operated production systems and can earn the trust of deeply technical teams.
  • You can read design docs and proposals, weigh trade-offs, and ask pointed questions on reliability, rollback, blast radius and failure modes.
  • Solid grasp of infrastructure fundamentals (Linux, networking, automation, CI/CD) to hold your own in technical discussions.
  • You have driven decisions and brought clarity to ambiguous, fast-changing work without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, including documenting plans and decisions and influencing strong technical people.
  • You work independently and can build processes from scratch.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, spoken and written, and comfort working across time zones.
  • Added bonus: experience with network infrastructure, such as network automation, observability or device lifecycle management.
  • Added bonus: experience with SLO/SLI frameworks, incident management or production readiness processes.
  • Added bonus: experience with CI/CD or change management for network or other high-blast-radius infrastructure.
  • Added bonus: experience delivering projects with distributed teams across European, Middle Eastern and African time zones.
  • Added bonus: experience with secrets and access management, firmware rollout or fleet-wide operational initiatives.
  • Added bonus: hands-on engineering contributions, such as scripts, tooling and automation, alongside project work.
