Description

The Irvine team works where embodied AI meets real robots, real sensors, and field deployments.

The company builds risk-aware, reliable, field-ready AI systems for hard robotics problems. Its approach combines engineering rigor with learning systems already deployed worldwide, and it goes beyond data-driven methods and transformer-only architectures.

Work from this team ships, gets tested on hardware, and improves from real deployments.

The role leads large, customer-focused robotics and autonomy programs from early planning through deployment and ongoing operations, for customers working in real environments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run large robotics and autonomy programs from kickoff through deployment and handover to operations.
  • Act as technical lead on customer work, owning delivery across autonomy software, systems, hardware, data, and operations.
  • Turn customer needs into technical plans, milestones, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate engineering, product, operations, technical support, and customer success teams.
  • Oversee readiness for and running of field deployments, raise operational issues, and make sure the right technical owner resolves them.
  • Track risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs, and act early to protect customer outcomes.
  • Report status, challenges, and mitigation plans to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Join on-site customer engagements and deployments, with travel up to 30%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • 2-4 years leading complex technical programs in a fast-moving technology environment.
  • Solid technical background in software, systems, or hardware engineering.
  • Hands-on understanding of autonomy or self-driving software systems. This is a minimum requirement.
  • Experience delivering projects involving robotics, embedded systems, or real-time platforms.
  • Track record leading cross-functional teams and driving execution without direct authority.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methods.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage several customer programs at the same time.

Conditions

Based in Irvine, California, where the headquarters is, with work alongside colleagues across the US and worldwide.

Travel of up to 30% for on-site customer work and deployments.

The salary range is described as generous. Base pay depends on role scope, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the Irvine, California market.

The company evaluates people on merit, qualifications, and performance, and does not discriminate on any legally protected basis.
