Description

The company is a consulting firm that delivers technology work for clients, from custom digital products to large integration, modernization and enterprise transformation projects that span several systems and business lines.

This is a consulting role for someone who works between business and technology, is comfortable with unclear problems, and approaches work like an advisor. You will turn business goals into technical requirements, work closely with architects and engineers, and help teams handle complex systems, integrations and data. You stay involved across the whole delivery lifecycle, moving teams from vague problems to scalable, maintainable solutions.

You will learn quickly how clients operate, what their processes look like and what their technology landscape is, so you can advise them and act as a subject-matter partner.

You will be a key contributor on cross-functional teams from discovery through delivery and validation.

You will help gather requirements through interviews, workshops and working sessions, bringing out business needs and clarifying what the solution should do.

The role includes a hybrid client-site schedule with regular onsite visits each week, depending on engagement needs.

Responsibilities

  • Turn business objectives into detailed functional and technical requirements that feed architecture, development, testing and deployment.
  • Work with architects, engineers and product teams on solution design, covering data models, API and integration requirements, interface definitions and system workflows.
  • Analyze data to understand current structures, data quality and business impact, and help shape how data supports future solutions.
  • Document data mappings, business rules, system interactions and upstream and downstream dependencies for complex integrations.
  • Balance business and technical views so solutions are useful, usable, scalable and maintainable.
  • Assess current processes and systems, define the desired future state with stakeholders, and run gap analysis to propose options and recommendations.
  • Write and refine epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and backlog items within an Agile team.
  • Coordinate and support integration, system and user acceptance testing, including requirements traceability and validation.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions and impacts across processes, systems and integrations.
  • Explain ideas clearly to technical teams, business stakeholders and executives, adjusting your message for each audience.

Requirements

  • Three to more than ten years as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Architect or similar role on IT initiatives and enterprise-scale solution delivery.
  • Consulting experience, or proven ability to work in a client-facing advisory role.
  • Hands-on work on multi-system implementations, enterprise applications and complex integrations.
  • Experience working alongside software development teams across the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience building process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams or other visual models of business and technical solutions.
  • Experience defining business rules, writing user stories, developing acceptance criteria and managing requirements in Agile settings.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, data flows and modern cloud architectures.
  • Ability to write and run SQL queries for analysis, troubleshooting, validation and testing.
  • Experience with data analysis, data mapping and requirements traceability across several systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Proficiency with delivery and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps or similar.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Preferred: experience supporting digital product development and product-centric delivery models.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare or public sector.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Salesforce or other enterprise business platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud modernization, application modernization or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred: familiarity with system architecture concepts, object-oriented design or software engineering practices.
  • Preferred: certifications such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Scrum, Product Owner, CBAP, PMI-PBA or similar.
