Technical Architect – Sales and Solutions Engineering

This is an onsite role, with most of your work done from a company office.

The company is an edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect, analyze and act on data and applications across edge and cloud environments.

The role sits in the Engineering job family at level TCP04. You design, build, integrate and support enterprise solutions on the company's hardware and software platforms, working with account teams, presales, services, alliance partners and other field staff.

The work centers on customer engagements such as workshops, proofs of concept and pilots, benchmarking and solution showcases. You will work largely on your own, needing little guidance, and you will lead and support other engineers in complex technical areas such as cloud, automation, containers, AI, storage and networking.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers as a technical expert in engagements, workshops, solution reviews and architecture discussions.
• Collect customer requirements and turn business needs into technical designs.
• Build technical solutions with engineers in your team and across the organization.
• Give technical presentations and demonstrations, and run hands-on workshops for customers and partners.
• Support solution deployment, integration and post-production work with advanced technical help.
• Investigate complex customer problems and carry root-cause analysis through to a fix.
• Work with sales, presales, product teams and customer stakeholders so solutions are adopted successfully and customers are satisfied.
• Expect international travel to customer and partner sites.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems or an equivalent field.
• Typically have 6 to 10 years of experience.
• Have strong software engineering and programming skills for integrating technical solutions.
• Can design and integrate software and hardware systems that run on several platform types into one architecture.
• Can guide and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Communicate clearly in writing and speech, with full command of English, including with field teams and senior management in a global organization.
• Preferred: experience with the company's compute, storage, networking and software products, or comparable infrastructure platforms.
• Preferred: experience with cloud management platforms and cloud infrastructure management, AI infrastructure and use cases, automation, storage and networking.

Conditions

Onsite work, with the expectation that you spend most of your time at a company office.

Travel to customer and partner sites is required, including international trips.

Base salary in Texas is USD 126,500 to 290,500 per year. Actual pay may differ based on location, experience, education, training and skill level. Variable incentives may also be offered on top of base salary.
