Systems Engineer Level 2 - Mission Operations Factory Support

The company's Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, CA is hiring a Systems Engineer Level 2 for Mission Operations Factory Support.

The role prepares for and carries out spacecraft operations and maintenance.

An SCI clearance is required to start.

Relocation assistance may be available.

This job is contingent on obtaining final clearances and program access within a reasonable period set by the company. Keeping the job requires maintaining the clearance and program access it calls for over time.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call support to resolve anomalies and lead the return to operations.
• Carry out root cause and corrective action analysis for system anomalies.
• Present system state of health (SOH), anomalies, and other critical topics to program and customer leadership.
• Take part in discussions with external interfaces, including customers, SETAs, and subcontractors.
• Build a knowledge-sharing culture by documenting system operations, hardware, and software.
• Act with ethics and integrity, and bring new ideas that challenge conventional approaches.
• Work effectively within a team, self-driven and under general direction, while independently working out and developing solutions.
• Travel to offsite meetings is possible but not required.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master of Science in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.
• Have experience determining root causes and corrective actions.
• Hold an active SCI at the time of application, or hold an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) at application and before the start date, with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain an active SCI before the start date. Keeping the role requires maintaining the clearance and program access it calls for over time.
• Optional: experience interfacing with customers or executive management.
• Optional: knowledge of MATLAB, Python, and/or Linux OS.
• Optional: experience with systems that have complex data paths and processing.
• Optional: knowledge of space vehicle subsystems.
• Optional: knowledge of space vehicle fault management and autonomy.
• Optional: experience operating and maintaining space systems.

Conditions

Travel: 10% of the time.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA.

Clearance: SCI required to start.

Benefits

• Pay range: $91,800.00 to $137,600.00 as a general guideline. Final base salary depends on the role's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
• Depending on the role, eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary annual bonus tied to individual contributions and company results.
• Vice President and Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
