Description

The company makes medical technology and digital health solutions. This apprenticeship is an onsite, customer-facing field service role that keeps less complex diagnostic imaging equipment working in hospitals and clinics.

You will be the company's face at customer sites, supporting staff who depend on the equipment every day.

The one-year apprenticeship trains you for a long-term career in field service. It is timed to match when an internal full-time position is expected to open, so your employment carries on after the program ends.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment faults in hospital radiology departments and carry out the repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and sites for safety and environmental compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Record service and repair work according to hospital protocol and company policy.
  • Keep in touch with customers each day to confirm issues are resolved, follow up, and keep them satisfied.
  • Learn to look after and calibrate your tools and test equipment. Keep up with the standards, codes, and procedures for safe, effective use of medical equipment.
  • Shadow and assist senior technicians on more involved repairs, and work with the local team to serve every account in your area efficiently.
  • Finish all assigned quality and compliance training by the due dates.
  • Report any customer quality or compliance concern to the Quality Organization straight away.
  • Know and follow the Quality Manual, the Quality Management System, the quality policy and goals, and the laws that apply to your role.

Requirements

  • An associate, bachelor's, or master's degree, military education, or a certificate program. Current students who have fewer than 12 months left to finish also qualify.
  • Or a high school diploma or GED plus 6 months of experience servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
  • Experience or coursework that covers reading schematic diagrams and troubleshooting and planned maintenance on basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment, in line with current standards, codes, and procedures.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. The company will not sponsor employment visas for this role, now or later.
  • Desired: experience reading schematics and carrying out repairs and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
  • Desired: analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical problems to customers in plain language.
  • Desired: a record of building good working relationships with customers.
  • Desired: experience working with internal colleagues and external customers in a solution-focused service process.
  • Desired: experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic equipment, with knowledge of digital circuitry and electro-mechanical devices.
  • Desired: a change agent who works in a process-driven way.
