The company works on data-heavy missions for national security customers, using technology and creativity to improve government work. The team is small and works closely together.
This role is a statistician and data analyst position that helps analyze, validate, and improve mission-critical data as existing environments move toward more modern, automated architectures.
You will split your time between detailed analysis and broader mission questions, looking at what the data shows along with its quality, limits, relationships, and what it means for operational and strategic decisions.
Tools in use include Python with Pandas, SQL and PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, AWS, Azure, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Jira, and Microsoft Visio.
Responsibilities
Study complex datasets to find trends, relationships, anomalies, and insights that inform mission and operational choices.
Apply statistical methods and analytical techniques to answer business and mission questions and back recommendations with evidence.
Work with data engineers to learn source systems, data structures, transformations, and what downstream analysis needs.
Use SQL to query, join, filter, aggregate, and check data across relational databases and other data environments.
Use Python and related tools to manipulate, analyze, check, and refine datasets.
Judge data quality, completeness, consistency, and reliability, and work with technical teams to fix data issues.
Help set analytical requirements and turn stakeholder questions into clear data and reporting needs.
Work with stakeholders on reporting standards, analytical methods, and repeatable ways of interpreting data.
Check whether pipelines, transformations, and automated workflows produce datasets that meet analytical and reporting needs.
Bring analytical input to data governance, covering definitions, quality standards, documentation, and proper data use.
Write analytical documents that explain methods, assumptions, findings, limits, and conclusions.
Explain complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work across technical and mission teams to keep analysis aligned with customer priorities and operational goals.
Take initiatives from problem definition and data exploration through analysis and validation to actionable results.
