Staff Software Engineer

Description

This Staff Software Engineer role sits in the Enterprise Integration team and carries technical leadership and strategic direction for building applications and integration solutions on the platform and related technologies.

You will work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and cross-functional IT teams to design and deliver scalable, robust solutions.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on designing and delivering features from start to finish, with a focus on the analytical product, using JavaScript and Java.
• Own high-impact technical initiatives from planning through deployment, and keep improving existing applications and services.
• Build applications and integration solutions that are high quality, scalable, clean, and reusable.
• Create proofs of concept and prototypes to test architecture and design decisions and confirm feasibility.
• Research new platform features and assess whether the team should adopt them.
• Set and spread best practices for platform development, integrations, and performance tuning.
• Coach engineers and help them grow technically and professionally.

Requirements

• Experience applying AI to work processes, decisions, or problem-solving, such as using AI tools, automating workflows, interpreting AI-driven insights, or assessing AI's impact on your function or industry.
• Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of related experience delivering end-to-end enterprise-grade solutions.
• Expert-level JavaScript and good experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language.
• Proficiency with modern UI frameworks such as React or web component frameworks, plus strong JavaScript development skills.
• A proven record of building and maintaining secure applications and integrations, with emphasis on scalability and security best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and work across teams without formal authority.
• Good to have: experience with AI coding tools such as Claude or Codex.
• Good to have: experience with backend work such as RESTful API design, design patterns, and database technologies.
