Description

The company builds a music distribution service and marketplace that links independent artists, brands and fans. Artists distribute their music directly to streaming services, keep ownership of their master recordings and can keep up to 100% of their royalties.

The team includes musicians, marketers, engineers and storytellers, with past roles at YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Complex and VICE. They work closely with the in-house creative advertising agency, Translation.

The company's values are: take full ownership of the journey, not just the idea; challenge each other and the work toward excellence, with respect; stay resourceful, fail fast and keep improving; understand customers well enough to meet their needs before they ask; work through uncertainty instead of taking an easier, weaker path; and be confident in what you know and honest about what you don't.

The company is backed by Alphabet, Andreessen Horowitz and Apple, and sees itself as a marketplace for cultural capital that helps creators own their future.

Responsibilities

  • Work with platform, data, QA and product engineers across the organization on reliability and security, including tooling, monitoring, alerting, emergency response and system design.
  • Help design and run an AI-driven security system that scans, triages and proposes fixes for vulnerabilities in code and infrastructure, with humans reviewing each step.
  • Talk with platform, data, QA and product teams to learn their needs for automation, infrastructure, monitoring and security, then build tools and processes that address them.
  • Build and maintain the agentic vulnerability pipeline, keeping human-in-the-loop checkpoints in place.
  • Bake security into the development lifecycle, covering threat modeling, supply-chain hygiene, secrets management and secure-by-default patterns.
  • Lead security and reliability incident response as core operational work.
  • Set company-level SLAs, SLOs and error budgets, and help teams define their own.
  • Guide system design toward shared tools and decisions that improve reliability, scalability, security and maintainability.
  • Serve on the on-call rotation as a peer, finding process gaps and coaching others on response.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure and security issues, resolving them while teaching teams to handle similar cases themselves.
  • Own the AWS infrastructure and set the long-term reliability and security strategy, balancing scale and cost.

Requirements

  • Senior-level to staff experience as an SRE, platform engineer or infrastructure engineer, owning production reliability at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with application and/or infrastructure security, enough to lead security discussions without a separate security team.
  • Practical experience building with LLMs and agentic systems, including having shipped something real and knowing their failure modes and where human oversight is essential.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals. You build tools and systems, not just configure them.
  • A coaching mindset, measuring your impact by how much you help the teams around you grow.

Conditions

Salary ranges are set to be competitive for the company's size and industry. Pay is one part of the total rewards package.

Pay decisions consider qualifications, experience, skillset and internal equity with peers. Most offers are expected to fall within the range based on these factors.

The posted range assumes the role as described. Because the company is open to a broader set of candidates, the hire may be less or more experienced than described, and the range would then be updated and shared with you.

The salary range shown applies to New York and California. The company uses a location-based pay strategy, so the range may be higher or lower for a hire in another location.

Benefits

  • Company-sponsored medical, dental and vision plans.
  • A 401(k) with company match.
  • Depending on the role and individual circumstances, bonuses and stock options may be available.
