Description

The company behind the PlayStation brand is a technology and entertainment business, supplying hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and creating the experiences tied to its well-known intellectual properties. It is a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation.

This Staff Program Manager leads large strategic programs that cut across several teams, domains and business initiatives. The role turns strategy into scalable delivery plans, works through unclear situations, and produces measurable business results. Staff Program Managers bring structure to complicated problems, raise the maturity of execution, shape cross-functional decisions, and spread effective practices across teams and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of large, complex programs that affect many functions and the wider organization.
  • Set the program vision, success metrics and multi-year delivery plans to match strategic goals.
  • Spot risks early, fix root-cause problems, and get teams and stakeholders working toward the same outcome in unclear situations.
  • Apply technical understanding to judge architectural risk, test timelines, find ways to speed delivery, and steer trade-off decisions.
  • Combine business, delivery and KPI data to set priorities, allocate resources, make trade-offs and change program direction when needed.
  • Make delivery easier by streamlining processes, cutting complexity, and rolling proven approaches out across teams and domains.
  • Give senior leaders clear, data-supported updates on risks, decisions and recommendations.
  • Coach program managers at all levels and strengthen the organization's delivery skills and execution discipline.
  • Work independently across several teams, domains or strategic initiatives.
  • Influence senior leaders and decisions that span organizational boundaries.
  • Improve delivery models, operating mechanisms and cross-functional rhythms.
  • Be accountable for lasting business impact, realized value and execution maturity across programs.

Requirements

  • Experience leading large, high-impact programs across several teams, domains or business functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Proven skill in defining a program vision and success measures that tie business strategy to scalable delivery.
  • History of leading through high ambiguity, managing risk, resolving complex issues and keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Enough technical knowledge to work with engineering leaders, assess architectural risk, check delivery plans and speed execution without prescribing the technical solution.
  • Ability to use business results and KPI data to guide priorities, trade-offs and investment decisions.
  • Experience persuading senior stakeholders and cross-functional leaders to agree on decisions.
  • Success scaling delivery processes, frameworks, tools or operating mechanisms across teams or domains to make delivery more predictable.
  • Experience mentoring program managers and helping set delivery standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead across cultures and regions, adapt to different working and communication styles, and align globally distributed teams.
  • Preferred: experience leading transformations that introduce new operating models, governance or enterprise capabilities.
  • Preferred: experience shaping portfolio strategy, investment decisions and cross-domain priorities with data-driven insight.
  • Preferred: experience coaching program managers on delivery excellence, systems thinking and stakeholder management.
  • Preferred: experience building repeatable frameworks, playbooks or organizational mechanisms that raise execution quality and business results at scale.

Conditions

The base pay range is $173,000 - $259,400 USD. Final pay within that range depends on market benchmarks, location, and individual factors such as knowledge, skills, experience and location.

The base pay range may vary with the hybrid working policy.

The role may be eligible for a bonus package.
