Description

You will own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the tools that tens of thousands of candidates and elected officials use to put people ahead of parties.

Most voters, among them more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, feel that neither major party speaks for them. The goal here is to make running as an Independent a realistic route into office.

Since 2024, more than 13,000 Independent candidates have won races in all 50 states using the company's free AI-powered platform, training and support. The tools cover launching and running campaigns, reaching voters and serving communities, with no party or large donors required.

The company is a Public Benefit Corporation, founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit, whose past exits total $1B+, including Flipagram, TikTok and Shopzilla.

The company is fully funded for its mission, so your focus stays on impact rather than on the next funding round. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of taking products from 0 to 1 and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap, working with the product and politics teams.
  • Shape ideas into scalable features that help Independents explore a run, win campaigns and govern.
  • Run user research and testing across a politically varied user base, working alongside Design.
  • Build AI tools into products and features, both to improve them and to multiply your own output.
  • Design connected funnels that grow adoption and open a workable path for Independent candidates.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative analysis to test ideas, learn from user behavior and feedback, and raise metrics on live products.
  • Report to the CPO and work closely with Design and Engineering.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building tech products, with growing scope and results.
  • Built a product from scratch, or joined very early and took it from 0 or 0.5 to 1 and beyond.
  • Quick to change direction when evidence or a better option appears.
  • Obsessed with users: research them and improve the product so they succeed.
  • Analytical, metrics-driven, and skilled in data, optimization and problem solving.
  • Use current AI tools and understand the basics of prompt engineering.
  • Basic understanding of how the American political system works.
  • Work independently and also collaborate to solve problems in real time at startup pace.
  • Curious and empathetic about how users think and behave.
  • Communicate clearly, directly and respectfully, and welcome candid feedback in both directions.
  • Curious about, or already committed to, making Independent runs for office viable.
  • Thrive in a remote, fast-paced setting, balancing strategy with a bias toward action.
  • Bonus: experience on small, close-knit, fast-paced remote teams.
  • Bonus: professional or volunteer work in civic tech, democracy reform, political campaigns or social impact.
  • Bonus: ready to act rather than watch from the sidelines as democracy falls short.
