Description

The company is an object storage provider in the open cloud space, founded in 2007 and listed on Nasdaq through an IPO in 2021. It reports over $100m in revenue, manages over three billion gigabytes for more than 500K customers in 175+ countries, and serves businesses, developers, IT professionals, and individuals.

The team is hiring a Principal Product Manager for its S3-compatible object storage product. The storage is globally available, scales to multiple exabytes, and is priced at a fraction of traditional cloud infrastructure costs, serving AI neoclouds and hyperscalers alike.

You will work on your own to find and deliver new features and improvements. You will partner with key stakeholders to track how cloud storage is changing, decide on product strategy and roadmap, and talk with customers and market contacts to understand their problems and turn them into requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set the product strategy and roadmap for the storage product and see it through delivery.
  • Own the full product lifecycle, from discovery through feature delivery.
  • Collect and weigh input for discovery and prioritization from internal teams, customers, and partners across all of R&D, including features, usability issues, cost reduction, and technical debt.
  • Turn complex customer problems into clear, concise, actionable requirements with Design, Engineering, and go-to-market teams.
  • Work with Product Marketing to launch new products and features and grow their adoption.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and advocate for the company's solutions, presenting to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.
  • Define and monitor key product metrics, and use the data to guide iteration and growth decisions.
  • Stay current on object storage advances, customer use cases, and competitor offerings to spot new opportunities and protect the company's market leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of product management experience at technology companies, ideally in IaaS or SaaS.
  • A track record of launching and scaling technical products or platforms in fast-growing businesses, leading cross-functional work across R&D and go-to-market.
  • A solid understanding of cloud architecture, APIs, and security and compliance.
  • Experience owning product roadmaps, defining MVPs, and managing the complete product lifecycle.
  • The ability to turn market trends, customer needs, and technical innovations into a clear product vision and a practical roadmap.
  • Real empathy for customers, and a drive to solve their most pressing security challenges.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to finding problems, weighing solutions, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience using data and metrics to guide product decisions and measure results.

Conditions

The base pay range for this role is $225,000 to $250,000. Pay ranges are set by function, level, and country, and are shared for all US-based postings regardless of state.

Final offers depend on factors such as location, skills, depth of experience, and relevant licenses or credentials, and may fall outside the listed range.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Benefits

  • RSU grants for full-time employees.
  • Annual company bonus plan.
  • Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
  • Healthcare for family, including dental and vision.
  • 401(k).
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Maternity and paternity leave.
  • A MacBook Pro, plus a generous stipend to personalize your workstation.
  • Childcare bonus, for human children only.
  • Fertility treatment and support.
  • Learning and development program.
  • Commuter benefits.
  • A culture that supports a healthy work-life balance.
