Description

The Access Security team builds the intelligence layer for the company's identity product. It helps enterprises answer a core security question: who and what can reach critical resources? The team turns identity and access data into clear insights that let customers find risky access, rank fixes, and cut exposure before it becomes an incident.

The company is hiring a senior staff backend engineer to design, build, tune, and maintain access security features that apply AI to access insight, risk detection, and remediation. You will work with cross-functional teams on secure, scalable backend services and AI-assisted workflows that hold up in enterprise environments. The role calls for strong Go and Python skills, hands-on AI integration, and experience leading high-performance architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product, design, and engineering leads to shape solutions that weigh innovation, performance, and business impact.
  • Promote responsible use of LLM frameworks, AI agents, and AI-driven access intelligence in enterprise-ready identity and access features.
  • Research new technologies and identity and access management patterns that add customer value and improve resilience, scalability, and performance.
  • Take part in every technical part of team deliverables: architecture, design, quality, performance, maintainability, and code review.
  • Build automated testing into development workflows so quality stays consistent across releases.
  • Coach other engineers by sharing engineering practices, setting quality bars, and driving improvements in testing, reliability, and production readiness.
  • Own features from early design and architecture through release, operations, and long-term stability.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience putting AI, ML, or LLM capabilities into production, such as for decision support, risk analysis, automation, or access intelligence.
  • 10+ years of backend development, including hands-on work on complex enterprise production software.
  • Strong Go skills, plus at least one other language such as Python or Java, and a clear architectural vision.
  • Experience designing RESTful, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs, with solid data modeling and SQL skills, and working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and graph databases such as Neo4j.
  • Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance tuning.
  • A track record of leading large, cross-functional technical projects from concept to launch.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Preferred: prior work in identity and access management (IAM), identity governance and administration (IGA), or privileged access management (PAM) solutions.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and with containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred: hands-on work with LLM frameworks and provider libraries such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
  • Preferred: familiarity with automated testing frameworks and running tests in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred: a strong sense of ownership, a focus on the customer and user experience, and an interest in keeping up with new technology and industry trends.
