Description

The company needs a senior staff cybersecurity architect to make sure its application and infrastructure designs are secure.

You will review security architecture for cloud and on-premise systems so that solutions are secure by design and meet the company's security requirements. Experience in cybersecurity architecture is the core background sought, along with a strong focus on service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Act as security architect for application and infrastructure deployments on AWS and Azure.
  • Review architectures and assess risk within the enterprise architecture governance model.
  • Produce target system designs built on secure-by-design principles and security best practices.
  • Design secure architectures for AI applications and agents, covering identity, data access, model and tool integration, runtime controls, and human oversight.
  • Review generative AI solutions, agentic workflows, and supporting platforms in cloud and on-premise settings.
  • Write risk assessment reports that set out cyber risks and the controls that reduce them.
  • Publish reusable solution patterns that make designs clearer, more consistent, and better aligned.
  • Write security documentation, including policies, standards, and leading practices.
  • Create reusable security patterns and risk guidance for AI applications and agents: prompt and data protection, model supply chain, agent identity and permissions, monitoring, and lifecycle governance.
  • Track emerging technologies, industry developments, and market trends to support project delivery and operations.
  • Act as a technical leader in the function, keeping up with technology and security trends.
  • Build relationships across peers, functions, and businesses to share best practice and improve team effectiveness.
  • Influence the function and wider business while working with the broader security architecture team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise IT and/or cybersecurity.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity architecture.
  • Desired: experience designing secure solutions in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Desired: experience with threat modeling, multi-tier web applications, and relevant security standards.
  • Desired: experience assessing and securing AI and generative AI applications, including large language model integrations, retrieval-augmented generation, APIs, and agentic systems.
  • Desired: knowledge of AI security risks and controls, such as prompt injection, sensitive data exposure, insecure tool use, excessive agency, model and dependency risks, and AI agent identity and access governance.
  • Desired: an industry-recognized security certification, such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security, or Azure Security.
  • Desired: experience working with solution architects to design secure systems.
  • Desired: strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Desired: ability to influence, build consensus, and align stakeholders across Digital Technology teams and leadership.
  • Desired: strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desired: comfort working in new areas that need rapid learning, sound judgment, and continuous improvement.
  • Desired: ability to pull together input from many stakeholders and turn complex business and technical requirements into practical security guidance.
