Sr Principal Engineer Systems - AHT

Description

The company Defense Systems (the company's defense systems unit) is hiring a senior principal systems engineer to join the team. The work involves systems engineering for defense programs, including IAMD and command-and-control efforts.

The role requires an active Secret security clearance to start. Travel is about 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.

The company builds systems that have been part of major aviation, stealth and space milestones, and it looks for people who bring new ideas and curiosity to hard problems.

Responsibilities

• Define, allocate, manage and verify system requirements.
• Carry out functional analysis and trade studies, and allocate requirements.
• Build and maintain system architectures with MBSE, using Cameo and SysML.
• Turn customer requirements into detailed system specifications.
• Coordinate work across software, hardware, specialty engineering and program integrated product teams.
• Support system integration, verification and validation, and technical reviews.

Requirements

• Level 4 senior principal engineer: 8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in science, or 6 years with a master's degree, or 3 years with a PhD.
• Skill in requirements engineering and MBSE.
• Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw.
• Ability to read system interface documents, interconnect diagrams and military standards.
• Experience with requirements impact assessments, change requests and engineering change proposals.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Preferred: experience with IAMD or C2 systems, and an understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing and command-and-control architecture.
• Preferred: understanding of how those systems shape requirements and interfaces.
• Preferred: systems engineering experience in Agile environments.
• Preferred: experience with IBCS or Link-16.
• Preferred: familiarity with PATRIOT, Sentinel, G/ATOR or similar weapon sensor systems.

Conditions

Primary level base salary range is $135,800.00 to $203,600.00. Final pay depends on scope of the role, experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Travel is about 10% of the time.
