This senior principal role leads the security architecture strategy, reference architectures and governance patterns for enterprise AI platforms, agentic systems, digital coworkers and emerging technologies.

This is a hands-on architecture role for an experienced technical leader who likes to build as much as to influence. You will create architecture artifacts, set enterprise standards, develop reusable patterns and guide complex technology decisions, working closely with senior leaders in Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering and Emerging Technology.

You will shape how AI is adopted securely across the company while staying active in architecture design, technical reviews and solution development.

Employees are encouraged to move between roles, senior leaders are accessible, and the company values an inclusive workplace and supporting its communities. Philanthropy is a long-standing part of the culture, and employees give time and skills to community causes around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the enterprise AI security architecture strategy, and set principles, guardrails and standards for AI and emerging technologies.
  • Work with Cyber and Technology leaders to align AI adoption with security, regulatory, operational and business goals.
  • Identify strategic architectural risks, capability gaps and future-state requirements, and build long-term architecture roadmaps for enterprise AI adoption.
  • Act as the senior security architecture lead for the most complex and high-impact AI initiatives.
  • Lead architecture reviews covering AI platforms, AI agents, cloud-native services, data integrations and emerging technologies.
  • Guide technical decisions across several initiatives and programs at the same time.
  • Provide thought leadership on security architecture, architecture governance and secure design, and mentor architects across Cyber Security and Technology.
  • Define enterprise security patterns for AI agents and digital coworkers, agent identity and authorization models, AI orchestration platforms, RAG architectures, MCP integrations, AI gateways, enterprise AI observability, and model governance and control frameworks.
  • Create reusable reference architectures and implementation blueprints that teams can apply consistently, reducing design complexity and speeding up secure delivery.
  • Turn emerging industry practices into practical, actionable guidance for the enterprise.
  • Build partnerships with Enterprise Architecture, Security Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Application Security, Security Operations, Data Protection, Cloud Engineering, Technology Delivery and Emerging Technology teams.
  • Influence architecture and investment decisions in multiple leadership forums, and lead technical working groups and architecture communities of practice.
  • Advise senior leaders and executive stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
  • Evaluate new AI platforms, frameworks and technologies, identify their security implications, and guide technology selection through an architecture and risk lens.
  • Shape the organization's view of future AI security capabilities and operating models.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of experience in security architecture, enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, software engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience defining enterprise technology strategies and architecture standards.
  • A proven record of influencing technical direction in large, complex organizations.
  • Deep expertise in identity and access management, enterprise security architecture, cloud security, application security, API security, data protection, DevSecOps, and security monitoring and observability.
  • Experience leading architecture design for large-scale enterprise platforms or transformation programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred: experience designing security architectures for generative AI, agentic AI or advanced automation platforms.
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks, agent identity models, enterprise RAG architectures, AI governance frameworks, AI runtime security controls, AI gateways and policy enforcement platforms, and model lifecycle governance.
  • Preferred: experience setting enterprise standards, reference architectures and architecture governance processes.
  • Preferred: experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
