The company is a large healthcare business with a focus on delivering insights, products and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable.

The team is growing its cloud platform and wants people who can build new ideas into it, with the goal of shaping how healthcare is delivered to patients and communities.

The Medical-Surgical subsidiary distributes supplies, pharmaceuticals and diagnostic products to alternate care settings such as physician offices, surgery centers, long-term care, laboratories and home health, with about 8,000 employees, 15 distribution centers, roughly 900 delivery vehicles, over 2,200 manufacturers, more than 200,000 customer accounts and over 270,000 SKUs.

The subsidiary is expected to become Wellverse in early 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain enterprise GCP infrastructure with Terraform and Terragrunt, applying Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps to every cloud environment.
• Own the configuration and security baseline for GCP organizations, projects, folders, resource hierarchies and IAM roles, using least-privilege access.
• Set up and run Shared VPCs, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Cloud DNS, firewall rules and load balancers so GCP services, Apigee X and Oracle Exadata / JDE ERP connect securely with low latency.
• Provision and maintain Apigee X runtimes, API gateways, Private Service Connect attachments and load balancers that meet enterprise security standards.
• Build and maintain a resilient hybrid network, using Cloud Interconnect or Partner Interconnect, that links GCP applications and Apigee gateways to Oracle Exadata and JDE backend services.
• Work with integration architects to enforce mTLS, VPC Service Controls, rate limiting and secure endpoints across Apigee X, GCP microservices and the Exadata and JDE boundaries.
• Deploy, secure and operate GKE clusters that run Spring Boot microservices, AI workloads and internal developer platforms.
• Configure and support serverless workloads on Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and App Engine, tuning performance and latency for database and API transactions.
• Build automated deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions or Cloud Build for infrastructure provisioning and application cutovers.
• Set FinOps standards across GCP projects, including label and tag enforcement, budget alerts and showback or chargeback reporting for business units.
• Analyze utilization of Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL and BigQuery to right-size instances, improve committed use discounts and remove unused resources.
• Apply CISO security standards, including Secret Manager, KMS, mTLS, SAST and DAST container scanning and binary authorization.
• Build and maintain central logging, monitoring and distributed tracing across all GCP environments, Apigee instances and Exadata and JDE connectivity paths, using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Trace.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of enterprise IT or infrastructure experience, including at least 4 years designing, engineering and operating production environments on Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience provisioning and supporting Apigee X or Apigee Edge and managing hybrid connectivity to Oracle Exadata and JD Edwards.
• Expert hands-on skill with Terraform, Git and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Cloud Build or GitLab CI.
• Strong experience running production GKE clusters and Docker containerized applications.
• Deep knowledge of GCP VPC networking, Shared VPCs, Private Service Connect, VPC Service Controls, Cloud Interconnect, IAM and GCP security controls.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash or Go for cloud automation and tooling.
• Practical experience with cloud cost optimization, quota management and resource right-sizing.
• Google Professional Cloud Architect or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification, required or to be obtained within 6 months.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Conditions

Pay range is $115,300 - $192,100 base, set by performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market reviews and geographic market.

Other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities, may be offered in addition to base pay.
