Description

The team in the company's Product Integrity and Developer Productivity group builds tools and systems that help developers work faster and raise product quality across a large organization.

Current work centres on agentic systems that automate multistep workflows, such as triaging JIRA tickets, analyzing root causes, planning tests, and automating quality checks.

As an intern, you would report to the hiring manager and work alongside the team to build and ship agents that use pre-trained machine learning models to solve practical problems for developers and quality engineers.

The tools you help build will be used by thousands of developers.

Responsibilities

  • Depending on business priorities and team needs, you may take on some of the following tasks.
  • Design, build, and refine AI-powered tools that make engineering work more productive.
  • Build systems that automate parts of software development, testing, debugging, or quality assurance.
  • Test and compare ways to apply large language models and agentic AI to engineering problems.
  • Work with software engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, designers, and other partners to deliver solutions.
  • Join technical design talks, code reviews, and group problem-solving sessions.
  • Study technical challenges, suggest new solutions, and offer ideas that improve products, tools, and workflows.
  • Build, test, and improve production-quality software while learning current engineering practices.
  • Present your work and share what you learn with the team.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently finished a bachelor's or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid grasp of coding fundamentals and working knowledge of at least one programming language. You need to pick up new languages and frameworks as required.
  • Familiarity with agentic systems, AI tools such as Claude Code or OpenAI, or using models inside applications. Deep machine learning expertise is not needed, since the work uses pre-trained models rather than building them.
  • Ability to split complex problems into smaller steps, work through them on your own, and know when to ask for help.
  • Willingness to challenge existing processes and propose other approaches in a team that values new thinking and ongoing improvement.
  • Clear communication, including explaining your reasoning and the logic behind technical decisions.
  • Familiarity with software development workflows, quality assurance, testing, or developer tooling is helpful but not required.
  • Preferred: experience building or using automation tools that make workflows more efficient.
  • Preferred: exposure to JIRA, CI/CD systems, or testing frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience working in cross-functional teams with people from different technical backgrounds.
  • Preferred: coursework or understanding in machine learning, AI, or agent systems.
  • Preferred: example projects showing agentic thinking, such as personal projects that use AI tools to automate tasks.

Conditions

The internship pays $40.00 to $50.00 per hour. Final pay depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.

The 2027 internship runs from May or June through August or September 2027, with final dates set around each student's schedule.

The role is a full-time administration position based in the United States, with no shift premium.

Final salary is decided by job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and an employee assistance program.
  • A flexible spending account.
  • Fully paid parental leave of 4 to 12 weeks, depending on tenure.
  • 11 paid holidays.
  • Flexible paid vacation and sick leave.
