Software Engineering Manager, Platform

Description

The company makes search, security and observability software on a cloud platform, and more than 50% of the Fortune 500 use its search AI platform to work with structured and unstructured data.

You will lead the identity and access management team within the company's cloud organisation as it modernises identity and access systems.

The team is distributed, high-performing and working through an ambitious roadmap that will shape how user identities and access are managed.

Responsibilities

• Build a collaborative, inventive culture in the team, mentor members to grow their technical skills, set clear performance expectations and keep an eye on team dynamics.
• Run regular meetings to align on goals and share updates.
• Create project plans and timelines for IAM initiatives, assign resources, track progress and adjust when needed.
• Report status to stakeholders, spot risks early and resolve problems as they come up.
• Assess emerging technologies and adopt those that improve IAM capabilities.
• Tie technical strategy to business objectives and lead technical discussions and decisions within the team.
• Gather requirements and insights from key stakeholders for IAM projects.
• Build working relationships with internal teams so IAM solutions integrate smoothly.
• Share progress regularly and collect feedback to keep objectives and deliverables aligned.
• Carry out regular performance reviews for each team member, give constructive feedback and coaching, and recognise notable achievements.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience in identity and access management.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and architectures.
• Experience with IAM solutions and frameworks.
• Proficiency in software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices.

Conditions

Pay is base salary only, with no variable compensation.

The company sets salary ranges using external market benchmarks, internal pay equity and the responsibilities and complexity of each role, aiming for fair, competitive and transparent pay.

The final offer within the range depends on relevant experience, skills and expertise, fit with the role requirements, and the scope and complexity of the position.

The typical starting salary range is €55.800 - €88.300 EUR.

An export license may be required as a condition of employment if you are located in or a national of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria or Russia, including the Crimea, DNR, LNR, Kherson or Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine. National origin and nationality do not affect eligibility for employment.
