Software Engineer – Margin Technology

Description

The role sits in Markets Operations Technology, where the margin and collateral systems are being rebuilt for higher performance, resilience and automation.

The work covers new capabilities in advanced execution, global market connectivity, and modernised post-trade, clearing and margin processes, with the aim of a single integrated, highly automated platform.

Responsibilities

• You will build software solutions across the full development cycle, working closely with product teams and users.
• You will help solve complex business problems with technical solutions.
• You will help build a strong engineering culture across the global teams.
• Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• You have professional, hands-on software development experience.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or an engineering field involving software programming or systems engineering.
• You are proficient in Java, React and/or Python, mainly Java.
• You have hands-on experience building RESTful APIs with frameworks such as Spring.
• You follow TDD and clean code practices.
• You know data structures, algorithms and SQL well.
• You can work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• You communicate well and can manage several priorities at once.
• You enjoy solving engineering challenges and building robust, high-quality solutions.
• Nice to have: experience in an investment bank or the financial services industry.
• Nice to have: experience with cloud services such as AWS, and distributed systems such as Kafka, Kubernetes, S3, DynamoDB, MongoDB or another NoSQL database.

Conditions

The role is full time.

The setup is hybrid, with up to 2 days a week working from home, in a business casual workplace.
