Services Senior Engineer

Description

The role sits in the Center of Excellence, which covers both standard products and custom-built parts of solutions based on the company's software. The post is a senior technical role in product and solution development.

Responsibilities

• Work with the DEV and SUPPORT teams to get a full grasp of customer solutions.
• Find, research, build and propose software improvements that meet new feature needs or fix problems seen in the field or internally.
• Help customers adopt new solutions and fix technical problems that come up.
• Help Application Engineers (L2) with site-specific problems during commissioning of new sites and during upgrades and expansions.
• Take part in post-release and pilot phases of power monitoring system projects, giving feedback, running test scenarios and use cases, and helping validate the product and run unit tests.
• Solve technical issues that Application Engineers and Engineering teams escalate to you.
• Analyse product and solution failures, and help Engineering teams understand and fix them.
• Write up new solution features in the Knowledge Base tool.
• Design, plan, research, evaluate and test complex systems that monitor and/or control program execution within those systems.

Requirements

• Experience with software, databases and/or troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem solving.
• Experience querying and programming SQL databases.
• At least 5 years of programming experience.
• Understanding of SCADA and HMI systems.
• Strong technical writing and spoken English.
• Ability to work with professionals from many technical backgrounds, such as consultants, engineers, energy managers, developers, architects, team leaders, account managers and sales staff.
• Ability to travel to customer sites in the region and worldwide.
• Positive, enthusiastic, self-motivated and customer-focused.
• A people person and team player who enjoys the cross-functional work this role involves.
• A quick learner with an inquiring mind.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, changing environment.
• Desired: experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Desired: knowledge of the company's products.

Conditions

Full-time, permanent position.

The role is a senior-level position, with travel to customer sites as needed.
