Senior Workday Report Developer & Business Analyst

Its teams work on digital and information systems design across software development, data science, security, machine learning, cloud and mobile. The company was acquired in July 2024 and is now part of a larger firm.

The role combines business analysis with Workday report development, testing, governance and handover.

Responsibilities

• You will run requirements workshops, interviews and walkthroughs with business owners and subject-matter experts.
• You will turn business questions into structured reporting requirements covering purpose, audience, data elements, filters, prompts, frequency, security and distribution.
• You will review current reports from legacy systems and decide whether each should be retired, replaced, consolidated or rebuilt in Workday.
• You will challenge and rank requests by business value, data availability and what Workday can deliver.
• You will keep a reporting requirements inventory and a traceability matrix that links each requirement to its design, build and test evidence.
• You will obtain formal business sign-off on requirements and delivered reports.
• You will find data quality gaps and process problems raised during analysis and pass them to the right workstream.
• You will prepare unit test evidence, support SIT and BAT execution and help resolve defects.
• You will manage report migration between tenants under the BMS release management process.
• You will apply and help improve the Workday Reporting Governance Framework, covering standards, request intake, ownership and lifecycle.
• You will write functional and technical design documents for each report.
• You will train the client's report writers and key users on report usage and simple report building.
• You will produce user guides and a report catalogue.
• You will provide hypercare after Go-Live and hand over to the support organization.

Requirements

• You will design and build Workday reports of every type: Simple, Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending and Transposed.
• You will develop dashboards, Discovery Boards and worklet-based analytics for managers and executives.
• You will create and maintain calculated fields, custom report data sources and report prompts that follow naming and reuse standards.
• You will build reports that serve as data sources for integrations, such as RaaS and Workday web services, working with the integration team.
• You will set up report sharing, scheduling, bursting and output formats.
• You will apply Workday domain and business process security so users see only the data they are allowed to see.
• You will tune report performance and fix defects.
