Senior Technical Project Manager

Description

The company is hiring a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead delivery, planning discipline, and execution visibility across its engineering teams.

The role spans Product, Engineering, and Customer Operations. It focuses on making delivery more predictable, keeping parallel workstreams in step, and reporting clearly from sprint work up to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates have run several delivery teams and either set up agile practices or improved existing ones. They create accountability through firm commitments, metrics, and raising problems early.

Responsibilities

• Run standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives for several teams.
• Produce sprint reports and metrics that show unplanned work and carried-over items, then use them to find process improvements.
• Partner with Product and Engineering managers to convert unclear requirements into scoped, sequenced plans with named owners.
• Monitor dependencies, risks, blockers, and progress, and keep engineering and business stakeholders informed.
• Plan releases and write internal and external release communications.
• Organize and lead quarterly planning covering capacity, sequencing, priorities, and dependencies.
• Remove blockers by assigning clear owners and completion dates.
• Work with Customer Operations to handle support, making sure tickets are sorted, routed, and logged in Jira.
• Help leadership balance roadmap work, technical debt, defects, and customer needs.

Requirements

• You have 5 to 7 years of project management or software delivery experience.
• You have managed several concurrent projects, workstreams, or engineering teams.
• You understand engineering work well enough to follow dependencies and question delivery assumptions.
• You are proficient in Jira and other Atlassian tools, including dashboards, reporting, automations, and plugins.
• You communicate well, stay organized, and manage stakeholders effectively.
• Preferred: experience in financial services, fintech, or credit and capital markets.
• Preferred: experience at a startup or small company.
• Preferred: PMP certification or a similar credential.
