Description

The company is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager for its Core Platform Team in the company Travel, which builds the foundational tooling that every Travel experience runs on.

The ideal candidate is a former engineer who has shipped software from design through deployment and now wants to lead that work as a product leader, managing stakeholders and influencing other teams' roadmaps toward shared goals.

The platform team owns a shared component library that renders the production experience across all six Travel funnels. It also wires design-to-code mapping, component metadata, and CI guardrails to make AI-driven front-end work possible, modernizes testing, deployment, release, and observability, and builds the platform so other teams want to use it.

The role sits between engineering, design systems, AI tooling, and platform strategy. You will work with engineering leadership, design, and the funnel and agency teams that rely on the platform, turning a technical mandate into a roadmap, a regular cadence, and shipped results. You will run quarterly stakeholder reviews and own the placemat.

The team works in an AI-first environment and expects you to speak the language of builders and earn respect from the engineering community.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform team's technical roadmap from discovery through delivery, sequencing the component library, AI enablement, deployment and observability, and developer experience into one prioritized plan.
  • Lead the centralization of the shared component library (tokens, primitives, wrapped components, Storybook, Figma integration) and the move of all Travel funnels onto it, keeping production DOM rendered from the library as the target.
  • Drive the AI-driven development work: design-to-code mapping, component metadata for AI grounding, and ESLint and CI guardrails that stop shadow components. These prerequisites should take AI front-end reuse from near zero to most scaffolded work.
  • Modernize deployment, testing, and observability, including test strategy and coverage compliance, regression test automation, feature flag and A/B automation, and proactive monitoring (RUM, crash detection, session replay).
  • Prototype and validate technical ideas quickly with AI tools such as Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Stitch by Google, or comparable AI-assisted development environments, and help shape how the team uses autonomous and semi-autonomous AI workflows.
  • Take part in architecture reviews and design-system working sessions as a technical peer who can weigh tradeoffs, dependencies, and sequencing, not just pass them along.
  • Run the operating cadence: quarterly stakeholder reviews, the platform placemat, onboarding kits and migration guides for each tool, and developer experience surveys with follow-through that closes the loop.
  • Turn a broad, unclear mandate into clear technical requirements and a defensible sequence, working with limited information and adjusting as you learn.
  • Advocate for the engineers who build on the platform and the teams who consume it, treating developer satisfaction and adoption as primary outcomes.

Requirements

  • Communicate priorities, strategies, and tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and executives, concisely and with actionable detail.
  • Influence partner teams to adopt the platform over the long term.
  • Be credible with engineers: comfortable in architecture discussions, able to assess tradeoffs firsthand, and fluent in modern front-end platforms, design systems, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Work well with ambiguity: take initiative with a broad mandate, frame problems with the context you have, and iterate toward clarity and sequence.
  • Solve problems creatively and thoughtfully, navigating complex environments with many stakeholders and teams.
  • Treat platform engineers and consuming teams as customers, understand their pain points, and let them shape roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate well across engineering, design, data, and product, putting the team ahead of yourself and working with a community mindset.
  • Have hands-on experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Claude Cowork, or similar platforms (for example Stitch by Google) to prototype and test ideas, and be comfortable working in an AI agent environment where autonomous workflows are normal.
  • Deliver business results by focusing on the key inputs, meeting quality standards, and delivering on time. Own a technical roadmap and make tradeoffs that favor long-term business and customer value.
  • Find simple, elegant solutions to complex technical and organizational problems, and resist over-engineering.
  • Have a good eye for design and can wireframe and reason about user experience, given the role's closeness to the design system.
  • Show proficiency in five product areas: human-centered work that considers internal and external customer needs, business focus through leverage and execution, technology-driven solutions with near and long-term value, integrated problem solving that manages product risk, and transformational leadership across cross-functional teams.
  • Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field), Business, or Marketing, or be in the process of earning one that will be completed by the start date. Alternatively, hold a Bachelor's degree in any field with at least 4 years of product management experience.
  • Preferred: experience turning business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products.
